Was it their technique which was lacking, when those catches were dropped?

 

How much can the coach be blamed when there is no intent on the part of the player?

 

Perhaps try a carrot and stick approach here:

 

For every regulation catch dropped deduct a certain amount from the variable pay package. It may not mean much to most of them, but it could burn a small hole in their pockets.

Of course for the likes of Kohli and Rohit Sharma it would be chump change.

 

Also give them a certain amount for every difficult catch they take.
