Oh man please don't let Gill open. I don't care if he played all his life as an opener or not but for the love of god don't risk destroying the kid's confidence. Send out Vihari to open and make the best use of him by letting him bunt the new ball. MCG is an absolute patta so if they get out unscathed (relatively)in that first hour or so we should be scoring 350+ even with this batting lineup.

Happy to see Jaddu back in the team. 

 

All things considered, this is probably the best team that could get on the park given the absence of Ishant, Shami and Kohli. 

 

I think we can do well in this test match with a bit of luck.

what current form? he was in good form in T20s in 2018 and 2019 as well, did it translate into tests?

in 2018, his t20 avg 36.5 test avg  22.3

 

this year, his T20 avg is again 44.5
