So some people are wanting Natarajan to play tests based on 3 good T20I performances  !!!!!!

Totally different formats with different requirements.

In tests you need pacers to bowl 20 + overs a day with intensity. Natarajan was dropping pace while bowling 4 overs a day.

Plus Natarajan's forte is slower balls and yorkers. Test matches need good channel balls, stump directed skiddy quick balls and sharp bouncers.

P.s -- As far as I know, Natarajan is back home.

This.  After this post, it shouldn't even be a discussion.

The question is - which bowler can fill Unmesh shoes

saini for a very simple reason - pace . Currently with Shami not there , u notice bumrah alone can’t wrap up tail . Saini pace will help clean tail esp as he is good for Yorkers . Other part bring he is a good batsman too which helps shorten tail

natrajan is not zaheer . Not yet . But in two years expect him to be there . But a t20 bowler , without ability to bowl long spells , being brought in for left arm variety is not enough in australia . He might be a good pick in england -

Natarajan getting into the mix is an interesting one. We have not played a left arm seamer in a test match since Zaheer retired in 2014.

Natarajan will add more variety to the attack on the slowish SCG surface and will be an unknown commodity with the red ball to the Aussies. He's had a decentish FC career for TN. Perhaps worth a punt in a 5-man attack.

However, if the 3rd Test is played at MCG and not SCG, Saini may be a better choice for his ability to seam the ball and known ability to bowl longer spells at good pace in FC cricket.

Natarajan.

He would bring variety to the bowling.

With Rahane as captain,I think Rahane will go with Natarajan as 3rd pacer

Natarajan still in Australia??

I thought..he was send to India

Natarajan. Saini is overrated

totally agree...

3 years back..saini was in red hot form...he should have been picked back then...

Now..he is all over the place...his line and length is gone......

I dont think...this is the right time for Saini to make his test debut...

I want Nattu because he is the best option available...

He played for TN for few seasons and definitely can bowl 20+ overs...As long as he bowls 130+...with guile..he can trouble batsmen...(Zaheer bowled 135ish)

He has the guile and spirit of fast bowler and he might surprise us..

That is just a personal opinion, isn't it ?

My personal opinion is vastly different.

Most importantly  ... He is probably back home in India.

Zaheer bowled 130 k to 142 k in his best years.

.Natarajan bowls 120 k to 130 k in FC matches.

Increase it by a few kph as domestic speed guns show slower readings.

He will probably bowl 125 k to 135 k in test matches. May drop down to early 120s at the end of the day.

Moreover ... He has the guile for T20s and not for tests.

He has the spirit and the guile of a good T20 medium pacer.
