Natarajan or Saini for 3rd test

Wouldn't risk Yadav for the 3rd test. 

 

Options are:

 

Saini, more experienced and the faster bowler. Would have walked in had Kohli been the captain. Scarred after the limited overs day series where the aussies took him apart. 

 

Natarajan, more confident and coming off a good limited over series. More accurate but slower than Saini. Also still an unknown commodity in the longer format.

No need of this thread because Natarajan is not there in the test team. Obv it will be Saini but I think he will be worse than U. Yadav

In Sirajs presence, Saini is like adding another bowler that is very similar. Natarajan has an x factor. 

 

Saini is definitely the safer and proven bet. Much more first-class and list A experience. Its a very tough choice. 

 

I am opting for Natarajan. My gut feeling is that when it's tough and the opposition is set, he seems to be the kind of bowler to create a breakthrough.

With Rahane as captain,I think Rahane will go with Natarajan as 3rd pacer

Natarajan seems to be a thinking cricketer and bowls to his field. And apparently he has been beating the batsmen a lot in the nets. I would probably pick him to add some variety, but it would be unfair to saini

I want Saini to come in and his job is simple. Break some arms and shoulders of the Aussie tailenders.

So some people are wanting Natarajan to play tests based on 3 good T20I performances  !!!!!!

 

Totally different formats with different requirements.

 

In tests you need pacers to bowl 20 + overs a day with intensity. Natarajan was dropping pace while bowling 4 overs a day.

 

Plus Natarajan's forte is slower balls and yorkers. Test matches need good channel balls, stump directed skiddy quick balls and sharp bouncers.

 

P.s -- As far as I know, Natarajan is back home.

Natarajan should be groomed as a LOI specialist. Saini and Siraj should solely focus on tests.
