Mark Reason: Australia's cricket loses honour in shameful short bowling assault on India

NZ writer calls Aussies bullies for bowling short pitch bowling against taillenders and their culture of bullying. Bloddy wankers all of them.

Umpires and MRs are also from home side gave them protection, while all Aussie commie team also gave them covering fire.

Indian after Indian suffered what Paine called discomfort. Their skin is raw from the bruises. Matthew Wade was heard on stump mic warning Ravi Ashwin during the third test in Sydney not to end up with a broken rib. And the commentators, largely a bunch of Ocker mates with the blessed exception of Isa Guha, condoned it all. When the Indian No 11 walked to the crease in the fourth test it was quite clear he was scarcely able to hold a bat.”

So where the hell were the umpires when all this was going on in test after test? Captain Paine admitted what the Australian plan was, the commentators called it, the bowlers made no attempt to hide it, and yet the umpires let the Aussie hoodlums, of whom Starc is by far the worst offender, continue to assault the Indian lower order, at whom over twice as many short balls have been bowled as to the top order. Some of the short stuff is also produced by a chucking action which again is never called.”

Excellent article! For all their bravado, the Aussie thug bowlers failed to close out the 4th innings in not one but 2 matches, back to back. If their God Bradman gets hit by England bowlers it is bodyline but it's targeted bowling when their thugs hurl the kitchen sink at their opponents? Since when is it okay to hurl bouncers at tailenders breaking their limbs? If not for his deliberately caused injury, Shami would have ripped the heart out of this phateechar Aussie batting line up. All brawn, no skill for these sandpapering thugs. Our bowlers play cricket, theirs play Bloodsport. They should be well and truly ashamed that despite all this, they ended up on the losing side.

What is worrying is umpires warned Shardul for bowling short-pitched stuff at their tail, while theirs were breaking our tailenders' bones and fingers. Shameful. India should raise it with ICC, but all will be forgotten under the Big3 nexus. I had laughed at Rohit when Steyn irked him and he said, come to India. I agree with him and Ashwin, that they should not forget this.

Sab yaad rakha jaayega... Now worries, Mates! Come to India !

Aussies have been scarred for life. Losing to this young Indian team will lead to complete overhaul of their test team. Harris, Wade, Paine, Starc, Lyon - their positions will be under scrutiny, barring Lyon others may not play a test in near future. Warner will be put on notice too.

As they cannot appoint Smith as captain, Cummins is the only one who can take over from Paine unless they back Marnus. Such a massive blow within a space of month.

Lyon is at 399, right?  How cruel would it be if they drop him and he never gets to 400?

"Close but no cigar, Garrreeeee......"

Next time australia comes to let there be a match in eden gardens and unleash yadav and ishant on them broke there *ing ribs, that would be the moral win.

Nah, I liked the cool way our guys just ignored all, went about their business and showed aggressiveness only to win

There can be no bigger insult than winning the game, hitting Starc and Lyon out of the attack and then presenting Lyon with a signed t shirt for his 100th test

No need for false Kohli bravado

They are definitely bigger men than I am.  I was giving back with chaste Kannada gaalis at the TV from my couch, even in the face of multiple warnings from my wife.
