Zen is always stuck with his beliefs even after proven wrong. He always backs certain players and not others. When someone is so stubborn, its sad and there is no point arguing with him on this

Yup . believes in Pandya more than Pandya's family tbh :phehe: Just pure hatred on certain players and Unwavering support on others irrespective of what happens. I mean if he thinks Pandya is a better match winner than Ashwin then God save him

Axar just exposed Ind’s experienced spinners ... a big question mark on their records

Same like pant , gill , sunder & shardul exposed india best batsman in Brisbane

3rd 5-er in a row by the new bee Axar ... play any good spinner in Ind, he will shine

What about Nadeem in 1st test. No need to degrade spinners here. Axar is a great talent

But I think I know why this hate against our spinners now. After Sydney test it is pretty much confirmed that both Ashwin and Jadeja would be in the team from the next overseas series. Pandya's test career is closed for now :phehe:

And 5 100s, 11 50s....he has the ability to increase the count in next 3-4 years.

Dhoni in his 90 tests long career scored 6 100s, none outside Asia.

For all the hype Imran scored 6 100s despite batting so much at #5, #6 and in home umpiring era when no Pak batsman would be given out LBW or even caught close-in. Hadlee/Pollock had 2 test 100s to show for all their batting efforts.

Among Indians, Ashwin has more test 100s than Engineer, Jaisimha, Wadekar, Sandeep Patil, Srikkanth, Manjrekar, Yuvraj, ...all with decent sample size. Level with proper batsmen like Borde, Sardesai, Jaffer, KLR.

Very tough to replace Ashwin and Jadeja once they are done, even Kohli can be replaced I think, not these two. I know we love to whine and moan about CSK/Srini/Dhoni but credit should also go to them for identifying, backing, promoting these two modern day greats.

Super flop in SA 2022

Time to accept that that these are rank turners specialists who will usually only do well in patches overseas when the the pace bowlers have put the pressure

He was a no show in this series.  Bowled okay in the first Test. 2nd test not much scope. 3rd Test 2nd innings is where he should have stepped up. Instead lost his mind.  Below average series. But his batting in the third test was irresponsible. Should have defended like he did at the SCG and gave company to Kohli in the first innings and Pant in the 2nd innings.

Its about pitches. In Low scoring games spinners hardly matter on sa pitches.Unless you are once in a generation Shane Warne. If we would had some flat pitches spin would have played a role.Last Test  WTC final Ashwin did well .

in the absence of jaddu, he knew that he would play all 3 tests. complacency breeds mediocrity in this team - case in point, our middle order

Kiwis part timers showing that they too would have been “legends” if they played 50% of their cricket on such rank turners!
