He is a trash captain as shown by his captaincy in ODIS which requires the most tactical thinking but it's getting exposed in tests as well. He has no idea how to get the best out of the players he has and only cares about his stupid ego.

This is why Kohli is a terrible captain. He is completely clueless about which bowlers to bowl, what fields to give them, etc. Here, he just wanted to satisfy his ego by proving a point that fast bowlers can get wickets on these pitches. That is all. But, in the bargain, he gave up all the momentum, let uncertain batsmen settle in against fast bowlers early on and now, the spinners have their work cut out.

 

I am so glad that he was missing for the last 3 Tests in Australia. If he had still been around, pretty sure we would have lost 3-0 down under.
