England blew a chance today. Should have still been batting like even 7 down for 250+ would have been massive.

 

Losing Gill hurts, but better him than Hitman.

 

India bowled well.

Dont forget, England batted deep in their lineup.

If you told me after England won the toss, they would be bowled out for ~200 and India ~ 1/30 at close, you take that 100% of the time, no matter what.

Overall decent day for us... disappointed with Gill though.. needs to kick on his game.. tomorrow's first session is crucial.. we have faced far too many collapses in the last few games and can't afford one here. If we make 300, we're bossing this. All depends on hitman!

Its about time the other passengers in the batting stepped up, if they can't score on this pitch then changes need to be made.

We just need to ensure this partnership is around 50 runs more. If ball becomes soft its slow spin and field can be manoeuvred by playing in gaps. But honestly i think 205 is a damm good score. 175 would have been good. As i feel ball will spin more as day goes. India need 285 to win this match as second innings i dont see england making more than 175. So India have to chase 105 in last innings to win which I think we can. Oh also tomorrow Morning heavy roller to flatten the pitch a bit so that we dont lose early wickets

Gill will be sitting duck to Anderson in England. His backlift is too high for a opener. Is he looking slow or he is slow? is he hurt?

Issue I noticed with kohlis selection is that he chooses players based on current form rather than who excels in specific Condtions. 

 

Mayank would have brutalized spin in this series and the Pacers rather than Gill. But I get it. You need to give them a full series to judge their ability. But why punish a player when he clearly did well in India before. 

 

Same with rahane. Weak player of spin. Should have gone with pandya or Manish or KL Rahul or iyer who all can bash spin.
