Ideal Playing XI for 2nd T20I

Recommended Posts

My team as posted on the other thread:

Top order: KL, Kishan and Kohli/Rohit (can be rotated)

Middle Order (Flexible batting order): SKY, Pant, SDP and Tewatia (give him a shot)

#8: Sundar

#9-11: 2 pace bowlers + 1 spinner or 3 pace bowlers per conditions

In the above,

  • Batting till #8 (4 to 8 can handle pressure. Kishan is good in pressure situations too)
  • 4 right-handers & 4 left-handers in the top 8
  • 2 spinners - Sundar (off) and Tweatia (leg spin)
  • 3 specialist bowlers per conditions and form + SDP

Iyer did well but I like to pick teams with relatively long term interest in mind therefore need to see SKY, who appears to be more suited to the format, in action too

  1. Kishen
  2. Rahul
  3. Kohli
  4. Pant
  5. Hardik
  6. SKY
  7. Sundar
  8. Deepak chahar
  9. Saini
  10. Thakur
  11. Rahul chahar

Will still drop iyer- Plan A was to drop him coz he of his issues which  still we cant say is addressed and also he aint an impact player. If we keep changing our plans after 1-1 game then most of us will end up having dhawan to coz some day he even he ll make runs. The idea shud be to play give right set of players long chanace or else Rayudu story wud be repeated again

India Bought in new players to play a new brand of cricket

  1. sky- benched
  2. kishen- benched
  3. Varun.C - out on fitness test (idiotic)
  4. Nattu- unfit
  5. Tewatia- whats the scene with him ?

Varun and Tewatia are out due to fitness issues. Kohli has already said no compromise on fitness standards. Count them out from the T20 WC.

Will be interesting to see the fitness results for Rohit, Pujara and Ashwin or is an exception made for them unless same fitness rules do not apply for all the formats?

The question needs to be asked did u bought them for their x factor or fielding ??

Varun.C clearly was bought for being an x factor player so hide him in field. Also they shud be understanding in his case since he didnt come through proper system . Hide one guy as we use to hide bumrah in early days. If fielding is such a problem then kohli, dhawan n iyer are serial droppers.

The 'fitness is paramount' argument looks like a new idea which could soon be used to ease out Rohit from the LOIs.

Insecure Kohli can sink to any depths. See how he didn't let Rohit play Aus LOIs and now rested him here while he himself played dead rubbers in Aus!

I am *ing sick.of this *ing bullshit where a player like Kohli has more control over the selection and management decisions. It's a team game. I get it. It's a business at the end of the day but I am sure most Indian fans would love to watch India win rather than pay to watch their soooperstars in action playing for their retirement pension.
