Cricketics
Everry Indian must watch the highlights of this game. This was once in a generation comeback in test cricket. One played the greatest test knock by an Indian and the other played the greatest support role. VVS and Dravid Forever Indian, Mosher and sorak 1 2 Link to comment
ThirtyD.
Wow, it’s been 20 years already! I am yet to see a match that turned on its head as this, especially for Indian cricket team. Aussies juggernaut continued till 2nd test Day 3 of this series but we punched and what a blow it was! Link to comment
sorak
For me, Kolkata 2001 is the best and then comes Gabba win, but to each his own. nevada 1 Link to comment

Mariyam
Can't help but notice, why are the soles of their shoes different? If the steel spikes help Laxman bat better, don't they help Dravid too? What's the science here? Link to comment

Layered on top of that is a player's comfort level - "the feel of it" - and, to some extent, superstition. Link to comment
Forward Defence
I was at the stadium on the 3rd day. Had gone with absolutely no hope and many were expecting the test to be over on the 3rd day itself. Laxman saved the day with his magnificent batting. Got a nice glimpse of Mark Waugh and McGrath when they were fielding at 3rd man. Cricspin, nevada, Cricketics and 6 others 9 Link to comment
Cricketics
Check out the last ball of day 4 as Laxman/Dravid returned back to the pavillion after battling it out all day. All aussies out congratualting while the whole Indian team came downstairs. kirkutfan, Forward Defence, Mosher and 2 others 5 Link to comment
zen
281 is probably the best knock that I have seen played in the subcon SK_IH and kirkutfan 2 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
This is the greatest given that India bowled out for low scores 3 times in a row prior to that. This was the last recognized batting pair at the crease up against stalwarts of the game with 16 streak win under their belt. For me 2020-21 - playing against the best, most relentless pace attack with a highly depleted side which produced brave, classy newbie-knocks and top-class bowling, especially in Brisbane - pips this one. One difference was India had already won a test and drawn a test against this Australian side coming into the final test. So from a confidence perspective India was in good shape. Australian batting was down in the dumps with an exception of Labu/Smithy. Link to comment

Forward Defence
The stadium was so noisy that I had to scream everything to my uncle and cousin who were seated next to me. Sachin as usual received the biggest applause when he came in. After he got out the disappointment was palpable. The crowd really quieted down for a while. Ganguly was out of form and the people were dismissive of his chances of getting a decent score. He did not get a warm reception but as soon as he got a couple of boundaries, he was Royal Bengal Tiger( according to the crowd) again. There was a time when the Aussies had all fielders on the off side against him with the leg side fully unmanned. Among the downsides there was one rowdy guy who threw a 25 paisa coin( I knew it was 25 paisa because he shouted it out himself in Bangla while throwing) at McGrath which actually hit him. He cast a glance back but that was the end of it. There were other guys with cameras who were asking Waugh/McGrath for a backward glance to take pics. They were happy to oblige. kirkutfan, Mosher, Mariyam and 4 others 1 6 Link to comment
