Slow and tentative power play player  Rohit Sharma has 3 200’s in odi cricket, the most by any and also has the record for most 150+ Scores in odi. Surprisingly no one else has even 2 200’s.

not really surprising if you think about it

Kapil Dev's 175* vs Zim in 1983 WC was the first ODI 100 by an Indian

Sunil Gavaskar scored his first and only ODI 100 in his last ODI tournament for India - the 1987 Reliance World Cup.

Till 1986, Ravi Shastri with 2 ODI 100s had the most ODI 100s by Indian batsmen.

Navjot Sidhu used to avg in 40s I guess for sometime.. perhaps he was our first standout odi batsman ( srikanth did well but not consistent )

I know you meant it as a retort but you make it seem it’s a piece  of cake to score 200’s and 150’s just for fun even if we assume for a second that Rohit was  playing selfish cricket.

Hope we see another 200 from him soon. Slog overs Hitman is a beast!

India are the only top-10 test playing nation to have not conceded a five fer in t20is

Might also show our conservative approach. Most 5 fers are got when bowlers take last 2-3 wickets in slog overs. Teams which try to save wicket till last will concede lesser 5-fers. They will be only 4-5 down with an average score l, isntead if 9 down with a bigger score

India -Srilanka odi head to head record in the 90s is 20-19 in favour of India.

The Sl commie was yapping about their 90s exploits yesterday( on air with Murali Kartik ) saying " We used to win everything those days" or something to that effect. While I concede that every 90s cricket flashback prominently features Jayasuriya mauling our bowlers, we did manage to win a few every now and then. They bossed us in the 96 world cup but by 99(Taunton) that aura of invincibility had vanished.

He indeed was. Made a grand comeback in the 1987 WC, had a string of consecutive 50s and for a couple of years was our best ODI batsman  in late 80s .(Cheeka would start well and throw it away)

Beat us by 245 runs in 2000  in Sharjah, 54 all out :((! We had 5 left handers in our top 6 vs Murali. Dada, Yuvraj, Kambli, Badani, Robin Singh with Sunil Joshi at 8.

The strange thing about that rivalry was one team would win 5-6 matches consecutively, then the other team would dominate. SL had the upper hand though.
