Thanks man, have been following Indian hockey (men's) team for almost 17 years now, mostly disappointments but wins in-between were sweet, and always entertaining, beautiful to watch. Many are tired of our cricket choking, but they are lucky to have missed India consistently conceding dying minute goals to choke certain wins all this time. So us defending that PC in final 6 seconds, it is such a welcome change. Indian hockey has turned the corner....not just a consistently top ranked side but also an Olympic medal against Germany (our second toughest opponent historically), 1-3 to 5-3...that shows character. 

 

Always believed this team was different, especially since 2018. Glad we could get the job done, still feel the SF didn't see a fair contest because of umpiring, but Olympic medal after 41 years, monumental achievement. Proud of the boys, grateful to not just Graham Reid, but also the likes of Oltmans, Harendra Singh, Sjoerd (he too coached the men for around 6 months, gracefully stepped aside when he was replaced, took it in right spirit and coached the women to greatness)...this isn't an overnight success. Dedicated people, well-wishers of Indian hockey have worked for this resurgence for over 5 years now. 

 

Just hope Indian sports fans give hockey a chance, you all saw the game today, surely this team needs more fans getting behind it. Not like we play 200 days per year, we have one of the lightest schedules on tour and every game gets over in length of one IPL innings.

Sad for Phogat. Freak injury in Rio where she was looking so dominant, a loss here. Hope there is some divine justice for Rio and our girl gets another chance to medal.
