What do you think will be India's WT20 first XI at this point?

At this point, it seems the picture of first XI is getting clearer with every match.

 

SKY has consistently scored runs and played impactful knocks in last 4 games.

 

Kishan has also played the role of dasher convincingly at different batting position like opener or lower middle order.

 

Dhawan, Shaw and Samson have disappointed. Dhawan would do well in a team that needs a good accumulator but not in this side. Shaw and Samson have shown good explosiveness but missed out on giving noticeable performance like SKY and Kishan.

 

The first XI as it seems now for WT20 is:-

 

Rohit

Rahul

Kohli

Pant

SKY

Pandya

Jadeja

 

Bowling is still relatively open although Bumrah and Bhuvi will start for sure.

Good to see SHAW not in your team.   His batting has not improved at all.  Has same sort of flaws. Poor fielder as well.   Further, If hardik does not perform in next 2 T20s, he also should not be an automatic selection. We hv other big hitting all rounders in lower order who are reliable.   Like Shardul, Jaddu etc. Even D Chahar has shown glimpses of his batting potential.

Hasn’t Kohli already stated that he would be opening? Unless Shaw does something extraordinary in the last 2 t20is and then the IPL 2nd leg in the UAE, we are looking at a line up of Kohli, Rohit, SKY, KL, Pant/Kishan, Pandya, KP, Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar/Yuzi, Bhuvi, Bumrah

I think Kishan will edge past Shaw in the final 15 of WT20..  He is clearly better keeper & far more versatile than Samson.  He will be an option for back up Wicket keeper as well as an opening option. 

 

Hopefully he gets to play in Top 3 next game so he can get a chance for a big score & also for MI in IPl.

Don't go with whatever Kohli says. He can change his tune right away.

The same old tried and tested with a surprise factor thrown in (which will be pathetic selections). I wouldn't be surprised to see Ashwin being picked and benched.

Playing XI will be more or less same with Dhawan and Rohit opening, dont trust on Kohli's word, at best Ishan will come into XI for Dhawan as the tournament progresses just like how Rahane was forced into XI during both 2014,2016 Wt20. Sky will be there in XI, still cant be sure with fit Iyer TM may prefer him over Sky. People should stop dreaming about 2-3 new faces in XI.
