Some “expert” says bad technique and a whispering campaign starts to drop them. We had a stable batting order under Tony than Kohli, constantly chopping and some abba Kabbalah about process in place Should have pursued with Shaw, Mayank, Rahul, Easwaran, there was no need to reinvent Rohit Mr 30 in SENA back into test cricket. He scored double tons at home, just like Mayanksand Shaws. What was the need? Need to look at future rather than failures and rejects just because they are IPL heroes. At this rate, Dhawan will start opening in tests again. Old boys’ school club

coffee_rules Posted August 10, 2021 Author Posted August 10, 2021 (edited) Being a huge Pujara fan, can’t tolerate him anymore. Might have egg on my face in Lord’s, but he needs to retire, age and form is against him. 2 years is a good long rope for him. Time to blood new at#3. Nash Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Retiring on right time was never done by any of formal sport person in India, It is not our culture and it won't happen in anywhere never future. May be in 2030s decade we will see some graceful retirements. This culture is engrained in all of us. We are raciest, castiest and ungrateful people in general :) But it is not everything. All I am saying is stop asking for heads when cricketers do not retire on time, they won't and deal with it. If you are in place of Pujara, you won't be retiring either. I am an Indian-Canadian and I know my community very well.
CodeOfWisden Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Ishant should replace Shami. His record at lords is good and obviously we need to rotate our bowlers, it's a 5 match series!. It's expected to be sunny out there so can't really keep Ashwin out. Maybe we can replace Siraj with Ashwin. I think this bowling lineup looks ok on a slow seamer. Bumrah Ishant / Siraj Shardul Ashwin Jaddu I am sure Ashwin and Ishant will be raring to go after being dropped in the first test.

Will be interesting to see the three Bumrah, Shami and Ishant again together but I am not optimistic with these three. Laxman is probably the worst analyst among the greats..he is always sentimental and stereotypical express bowling, coffee_rules, Cricspin and 1 other 1 3

Mayank can open and compete with Shaw for the slot. I was talking about this series only, Gill is not an opener, he is a #3 or #4 prospect
coffee_rules Posted August 10, 2021 Author Posted August 10, 2021 (edited) Broad not bein available is bad for India. Any other bowler would have wrecked India further Edited August 10, 2021 by coffee_rules sage and AuxiliA 2

Hmm... generally true ..... but check the retirement of Sunil Gavaskar in 1987/88 - he was then not just the best test opening batsman in India but the best test opening batsman in the world. express bowling and Nash 2

I blame the BCCI for not sacking them in the first place. India cannot sustain a batting lineup of Kohli, Rahane and Pujara with their form over the past 2 years. Thats without getting an opportunity to bowl on 4th 5th day tracks Fitness and injuries are different things. But these conditions you'd expect them to do well. What you say doesnt happen to other pace attacks It happens to every pace attack. Like Sam Curran was off color last game. Even Broad. Someone else might be in the next. There is a reason they play four seamers in england in most games. Edited August 11, 2021 by rkt.india
shortbread Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 5 dry days predicted & 20+ degrees weather, Ashwin will replace one pacer. Who then? Siraj is the better bowler, more penetrative. Thakur can bat and swings consistently, but at a genial pace. If India wins the toss, Spinners likely to be effective in both sessions. But who are we kidding, Kohli winning a toss, lol!
test fan Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Ita green mamba .SO DO NOT PLAY TWO SPINNERS . Play 3 fast bowlers or a spinners + 7 Batters or play 4 pacers + One spinner. Thakur injury is Big big problem for us express bowling 1
