People’s choice can never be right or wrong it is what it is. Their country their system. India should negotiate a fair relationship with who ever rules Afghanistan.

A US air force plane touched down safely in Qatar yesterday after carrying more than five times its suggested load when hundreds of desperate Afghan refugees flooded the plane.

Don't think the Taliban are people's choice.

It's not like they have won any election. Or contested any. Though bloodless ( by Afghan standards), this is a military take over.  Not indicative of popular support for the Taliban.

Without popular support no way they would have run over the country so fast against such odds. Taliban is more like a state of mind.

We should wait and watch. We have investments in Afghanistan. If Taliban is ready to appreciate and hold those contracts, We can talk. Taliban saying Amnesty and other BS means nothing.

It’s written in our holy books. Poverty leads to poor deeds. Afghanistan is going to be poorer under Taliban which means, Give six months and Killings will all restart unless offcourse economy of Afghanistan improves

The culprits are USA they wanted to keep Taliban probably that's reason they are there and before only 3 nations (Pakistan, UAE, Saudi ) recognized Taliban and US from back end  but looks like this time China, Russia will also be supporting maybe some others aswell thanks to president who other countries believe is US puppet

This could have been fate of Iraq, Syria with ISIS aswell  but thankfully Russia interfered  with Bashar-al -Assad being their ally Russia just attacked ISIS mercilessly and defeated them. Although US also took credit if you were following the war you know that US wanted Assad down so they were playing around would be similar situation to Afgan

If they were *that* popular why are scores of people making a dash for the borders. Or the airports. Leaving behind everything.

If the Taliban were truly as popular as you make them out to be, why wouldn't they simply contest the elections and win? That way they cease to be international pariahs too. And rake in a lot of aid, like the previous Afghan government did.

Most Muslim countries including Afghanistan already follow sharia to variable extent. It's not like only Taliban want it.
