Should we wait for Kartik Tyagi to slog in the domestic?

Seeing Siraj i can't help comparing Tyagi with him. Brisk run up. Aggressive intent. Swing, pace. IS there a reason why he has played only 2 first class games?

Maybe covid is the reason. Also he is a bit injury prone.. and not sure how he can stand up to rigours of 5 day tests where you might have to bowl 50/60 overs if pitch is flat or you come across root smith in prime.. at least 2 full ranji seasons should be must.. he is already in pipeline and has been earmarked by bharat arun.. @express bowling please elucidate for us..

yes he shud atleast play season or 2 in domestic n then India-A , even if u carry him in national side he ll be on bench most times. 

Siraj went through the grind and was fully ready whereas kartik is a lil raw as of now

Kartik Tyagi is the most exciting fast bowling prospect in India now. (  among uncapped pacers  ). But must play at least 1 full FC season or may be more, before he is ready for Test matches.

 

.. He is 6'2" or 6'3" and gets good bounce

.. Bowls 135 k to 148 k in white ball cricket. Quick for his age (  20 years old )

.. Is very aggressive mentally, runs in aggressively and loves bowling hostile spells.

..  Bowls nasty bouncers and rising short balls. Injured Pucovski, Mayank and Rahul during the tour of Australia.

.. Has a quick and accurate yorker which he can execute under pressure too ( as we saw in IPL 2020 )

..  Most importantly, he wants to be a fast bowler and thinks like a fast bowler.

.. Has a natural outswinger. But can bowl indippers too.

-- Was a wicket taker at U19 level. Yet to play that many senior team games. 

-- Displayed good temperament while bowling to greats like ABDV in the IPL.

 

 

Will be great for us when he is ready to play test matches .. but that time has not come yet.

Definitely for at least for two full domestic seasons and 2-3 India A tours. No need to rush him now. Prasidh and Avesh are the next in line.

I definitely want him to play a significant number of FC matches before he debuts in tests. 

 

But if there is no domestic cricket going on, it would be really nice if he can be a net bowler with Team India. 

 

Sadly, he missed most of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 due to injury.

 

Can't wait to see him bowl for India when he is ready.

He became fit during the first part of IPL 2021 and played 1 game before it was stopped.

 

In that match, he was bowling flat out fast despite a long layoff.

 

Bowled a couple of nasty lifters and generally bowled in good areas.

yep, saw him bowl in warmup game in OZ, does not have full control yet.  Sprayed it around.

 

Let's not automatically assume every young hot prospect is the finished article like Siraj.  

 

The system has brought in Bumrah and Siraj at a reasonably young age, lets trust the 'A' tour pipeline, although thats been disrupted a bit due to COVID.

Just took this still from the video - seems that his bowling arm goes in-to-out which may be a bit of an impact on accuracy and pace. It seemed to be less like this in his old action - which seemed more smooth. I'm no technical expert (or expert on anything) but I think Ishant Sharma does something similar which is why he took a long time to fully harness his accuracy for international cricket. I think it feels unlikely he will be consistently rapid with this technical flaw. I think a lot of bowlers do go in-to-out a bit, even Brett Lee but I think this feels like a big one which may make it difficult (not impossible) to swing it away from the right hander.

Shivam Mavi is one i think can be like Shami.  He has a very good seam position. Have high hopes from Ishan Porel. Was chosen as net bowler in aus but had to come back due to injury. Ishan actually is tall and bowls back of length hit the deck like Ishant sharma

when you are deprived of quality bowlers, you can play these upcoming talented lads and then pray that they come good ( like Poyz do ) .. not when you have a quality pool of bowlers.. let him play couple of seasons like ppl above have mentioned. Infact we lack quality in batting and such talented players should get a chance

there are plenty of backups. We just need to hope they are managed well - Prasidh, Mavi, Tyagi, Avesh (really hope to see him soon), Nagarkoti, Porel, etc. Even someone like Nalkande could be an asset in ODIs or T20s. Our pace depth is quite remarkable. Spin, on the other hand, is very bare. Jaddu and Axar are mostly suitable for home conditions, Sundar is a batter, and Ashwin is fabulous but aging.

This guy  and NAtrajan are the bowlers who can land yorkers at a decent ratio.  I think it is worth giving chance to this guy atleast against weaker oppositions. Look promising, lot of energy like Mohammad Siraj.

Yes,Nalkande is quite skiddy

Unfortunately,not been able to get even a single game from Punjab for 2-3 seasons now despite Punjab being below average in IPL

Hope he's transferred to some other franchise

I don't think he is anywhere near 6'2 or 6'3, Ben Stokes is 6'1 Kartik is 6'0 at best.
