My predictions checklist for the t20 wc:

3. India will lose to a minnow in the group stage

4. contrary to popular opinion Windies will have a group stage exit 

5. Afghanistan will run riot but narrowly miss out on semis

6. Mitch Marsh will carry the Aus team by himself

7. Ireland will surprise everyone and end up in the semis

8. The four semi finalists will be: India, Ireland, Australia and England

The Ireland ones are a long shot. I would rather put my money on Afganistan.

India: will decimate every opposition in groups and have the off day in knockouts

 

Pakistan: will give us hahaha moments but also play like cornered tigers when it matters towards the end but will just about miss out or get knocked out in semis 

 

New Zealand: will cruise through till knockouts but just like India will have an off day unless they meet india in these knockouts

 

England: either winning this whole thing or getting knocked out in the first stage. No middle ground.

 

Westindies: Will have a disastrous tournament with a few retirements after this. Let’s not get carried away with the past, 0 chance in this tournament. Take it from me.

 

Srilanka/ Bangladesh: Will upset a big team and open up the tournament and make it exciting but might also drop a game to one of the qualifiers/minnows. Won’t get anywhere near knockouts but will add a lot of nuisance value to the big teams.

 

Australia: will win the games where they are favorites and lose to the stronger teams. No surprises. I would say either one of Aus or Pak will be in the semis. I don’t see both.

 

Afghanistan: will get a consolation win but won’t have much impact overall as people are expecting. There will be that one win where Rashid Khan will run through a lineup or one of their hack batsmen will play a blinder.

 

 

South Africa: have a feeling they will surprise a lot of folks in this tournament. Punch above their weight and might finally  be a shocking winner too. My left field pick to win this entire thing is actually SA.

 

Rest: don’t even know or care who else is playing.

We're winning this. Will beat Australia in the final. 

 

Kohli is going to score his first t20 hundred and break his 71st jinx.. 

 

Ashwin's selection would prove to be a masterstroke.

Ind will beat NZ in group game, beat everyone apart from Afghans (tie!!!) in Super 12 or whatever they call it.

 

Beat WI in SF, Ashwin will take out their dangerous LHBs (in the only game he plays whole tournament) while Rohit will go berserk. 

 

Lose F to NZ, again. Bumrah choke, senior batsmen choke, SKY and Pant will be valiant but ultimately we'll go down narrowly by 5 runs. 

 

Our best batsman will be SKY, best bowler R Chahar. Kohli will have a shocker, averaging 25 odd at 110 SR in opening slot.

 

Rohit to fire against Pak and in SF.

 

Pant to fire only in F, get a 30 ball 50.

 

KL to miss WC because of injury in IPL. Shaw will replace him but Ishan will be preferred in the XI. 

 

Bhuvi to get injured in group stage, Deepak Chahar to replace him.

 

Hardik will get promising starts but won't capitalize. Won't bowl much.

 

Bumrah will be too tired throughout the campaign after spending all his energy in service of Ambanis. His biggest choke in F where he will get the most important wicket but no ball curse. He will send down record number of no balls in a T20 competition. 

 

Shami will be surprisingly good but get dropped in the F. Same with Ashwin, won't play the F after he sticks out his tongue and makes funny faces before Kohli in the SF. 

 

Jadeja to struggle with both bat and ball. 

 

Varun will get a 5fer in one of the group games but then not do much after that. 

 

Babar-Rizwan will get exposed, Pak to lose 3 games in Super 12.

 

Afg, SL, BD will cause upsets but not make SF. 

 

Eng to not make SF....Aus or RSA will be the surprise SFist but ultimately lose to NZ.

For India, I get a dejavu feeling. Absolutely bossing the qualifiers but knocked out in Semis or finals. We are becoming the new South Africa in ICC events. Hope we turn it around this time

This is Pandya's best bet to prove his critics wrong. He doesn't play tests. Clearly, India did missed him in WTC Final. He hasn't achieved anything special in his international career till now. Time for him to show what he is calibre of.

I have feeling game against Poyzz would be a close encounter for some reason.  We will smash Kiwis in group stage this time (KO is different matter) 

 

Kohli Rohit Rahul all 3 have had struggles vs spin.   For Pakistan Imad Wasim will open the bowling for sure. 

I just feel we should unleash Kishan on them in PP to counter Imad.  Left arm spinner vs left hander would be one way traffic.  Once Poyzz lose early momentum it's game set match.
