Who said that we have to agree to forfeiture.

we might not agree but if icc dispute resolution committee lead by a british queens council agrees it will be enough for forfeiture. India is signatory to icc dispute resolution norms and there is no scope for appeal either way..

This is not some 1970s and 80s BCCI when you could say England will walk over them. Which country has stood up to BCCI and denied them anything. Moreover they have done nothing wrong here.

this is not the case winging you di$ks to find out the biggest one …

1. Indian players did not want to play the test.
2. India intentionally pulled out of the test

3. No Indian players had Covid in the morning of test .

4. We do not know if the ECB offered a physio for the test

5. We do not know if india offered to push the test by few days . We do not know ECB response .

there is not a lot going for India’s arguments apart from precedent of England pulling out South Africa . But that was pre- vaccine time .

I really don’t see any feasible argument for india .

Again lack of accountability, professionalism and good corporate governance is causing BCCI and the Indian team a lot of headache ..

AFAIK new post-Covid WTC rules states that Covid outbreak among the squad is fair reason for a team to pull out of a series. The series will either be cancelled or postponed but not forfeited.

None of the players got infected.

this was the fear of covid not covid infection .

why did this fear not exist when Ravi shastri got infected with other coaches

the decision was a well thought one by the players not to play .

It doesn't matter whether or not players were affected. Coaches are also part of the team contingent. That's reason enough to cancel the test.

Remember England called off their entire SA tour after just a few of the hotel staff were Covid+. They feared they COULD get infected. Here actual members of the Indian contingent already HAVE Covid.

Ganguly is getting dramatic lol "Dead scared".   THey didn't seem to be "dead scared" when 3 of the other members got COVID. What are the odds they could not have got from them.

Can you cite the clause which talks about coaches and staff? Because it clearly talks about players infected and not able to field XI on field

You saying it doesn't matter it doesn't matter, 10 times,  is not a clause

Also early withdrawal or cancelation of whole series like SA before it starts is part of the clause, this isnt

lol They have done nothing wrong here except leaving the tour on a whim. I would be pissed off if England does this in India when they lead 2-1.

BCCI wanted to end test series early: ECB Denied

BCCI wanted to keep global tournaments same between 2023 to 2031. Denied. 4 more icc trophies

BCCI wanted tax exemption for wc : Denied

remember post the supreme court appointed commission things have changed. Other countries know that. Also bcci is bcci because it attracts top Players. Most top players are from ecb cricket Australia.. and whatever said n done i havent seen a bonafide superstar leaving their central contract to play for ipl. It will never happen. The reason is its the playing for country which attracts eye balls and the clutch performances for the country which makes you a valuable asset. So bcci cant win everything. At least not in DRC if verdict goes englands way..

Something fishy :fisheye:

Its all worked too well now that players have travelled early to Dubai..

May be english players backing out of IPL is a retaliation?

Dude, I am not fighting BCCI's case here. Haven't read the ICC documents, why should I? My post was about the morality of Indian team's withdrawal not it's 'legality'.

I believe we were well within our moral rights to not play the 5th test as the threat of Covid was very serious. A test match takes a lot of mental and physical exertion to play. It wasn't a T20. England would have ran away quicker, if it had happened to them in India.

Will ICC legally rule it in our favour? I don't know. Only time will tell.

This is not about which board is more powerful. This is about law and BCCI broke it.

Are you a moron, how do you know Indian players did not want to play the test.  There is nothing which shows lack of accountability. Players are accountable first to themselves and their families. Everything comes after that, Once their last physio got tested positive they had every right to be worried and petrified.

As I said in my earlier, any moron whose ass is not on the line will say what is the big deal  no one tested positive.

All the people who tested positive were double  vacinnated, so your ridiculous theory  of England pulling out SA was pre vaccine time goes out of the window.
