Michael Vaughan says 5th test was cancelled for IPL

He forgot if there was no Covid outbreak in Indian contingent, they only needed 3 day quarantine. 6 day quarantine is required only because they were close contacts of Covid positive. SL players coming to UAE from SL-SA series have to quarantine only for 2 days because they were already in bubble and didn't have Covid scare in that series.

 

So, the Test only got cancelled because of Covid and not the IPL. People need to be reasonable. As I said no top cricket team with support staff isolated and 8-9 players deemed close contacts would be ready to play a test match the next day.

the most disappointing thing about all of this is how quick so many in the English media have been to put forward speculation as fact. just a whole bunch of 'oh come on', 'surely anyone can see', 'it's blatantly obvious', etc etc.
