Pakistan looks unstoppable

Batting second in both games.  I want to see them bat first and defend before I come to any conclusions.  Not sure how much conditions have to do with this.

Chasing used to be their weakness..  I am surprised as Kiwis are good in defending totals.

Point is, they won the toss against key opponents and have booked a place in finals after 2 games.

It's contingent on the ICC to make sure playing conditions are fairer in most games! Toss should not be deciding factor in a T20 game

This world cup is organised by India. 

 

Rameez Raja has sold this to idea to his players that good cricket means IPL frenchises may be interested. I doubt even winning trophy will change IPL frenchises

Any top team can win on their day in this format. All we need 2 or 3 brilliances in bat and ball. The fact that WI has won it twice. in the 2010s shows how much of a day's performance matters

This is like their home ground. Probably a reason why they look at home. Slow/sluggish pitches where ball doesn't come at you quick.  Most of the credit has to go to their bowling.  Let us see how long they will be able to sustain their dominance.

Has there ever been a team that peaked early in a Wt20 and won it? Maybe England 2010? Often peaking early can be a problem: NZ 2007, RSA 2009, Aus 2014.

PAK can win this T20 WC but They can also choke come elimination. Specially if they bat first.

Not this Indian side. If KL Rahul or Rohit goes the distance then we are talking. Rest were poor even in the IPL.  Pant rarely made a telling contribution for DC.  He was coming low down the order. Pandya sucked balls. Jadeja is  a con man in T20.  MVP my foot. SKY also failed except in one match in the IPL.  Essentially 4 average players after top 3.  Then 4 tailenders.  Essentially 2 of the top 3 MUST click every match. We are toast otherwise.  To compound this problem our bowling is one of the worst in this edition of world T20. Not a single GO TO bowler. Bumrah has lost that tag long back.  It is more a hope these days he gets some wickets. He was thrashed around by Williamson, Kieth jamison.  

 

Can India come up with a better side than this? Sure they can. With much better depth, much better impact.

Not really impressed, got luck with both tosses, really easy group, 2 decent openers, decent left arm quick that's about it.

 

I will like to see them play a fully pumped Indian line up. They would get battered.

 

I think Indian team is too tired, should have rested during IPL but they can't due to their franchise demand and obligations.

 

From Aus Tour-IPL-WTC Final-England Test Series-IPL-T20 World Cup with very little break.

 

Also Virat last tournament as Captain, Captain or some players seem to be going through the motions in last match.

 

India need the spirit of lords Test match Vs England.

This is not a really easy group, maybe slightly easier group compared to Group 1. NZ, Ind and Afg are dangerous in their own right. Pak could have lost to all 3 of them. Now that they have beaten 2 of 3, they are strong contenders for the title.

 

Isn't the last series for the captain a galvanizing thing for the team? Instead we got a insipid performance from one of the big games.

Well I don't think the captain see eye to eye with some of the players.

 

But to be honest I think they are tired, I think they got bored of hammering Pakistan in world cup games so they let Pakistan off with a lacklustre performance (don't confuse with fixing).

 

Main game India has to concentrate is NZ, if they some how win then I think they can go all the way.

If Ind win against NZ, they will be through to the semis for sure. But need to win.

 

They always had the option of sitting out of the IPL if they were tired. Now that they chose not to, they will have to play this tournament well and try and qualify.

Not just unstoppable. Determined, possessed and focused. It’s almost as though their emotional energy has got chanelled. Add to the fact, the conditions. The team is is still lacking in talent but making up for it with sheer combined grit. 
 

They are the team to fear this competition.
