Avesh will play once series is in bag. This is exactly what was missing under Kohli. TLC to young players. Under Kohli, Aavesh would be playing crunch match under oressure and then dropped next series even if he performed, drop next match if he didn’t perform

Kohli systematically did that to young batsmen.

 

It is not a coincidence that India with its wealth of batting talent, under Kohli, managed to groom ZERO new batting talent.  Pant is a 'keeper, KL Rahul emerged before Virat became captain, and even he had to keep wickets to 'save' his white ball career.  

 

Young batsmen were mistreated, kept out, never put in positions to allow them to blossom.  Instead dump them at #6 where they are forced to bat "selflessly" or be thrown out after a couple of games.  Better yet, pick older players like Kedar Jadhav, Rayudu, who are never going to be around long enough to attract serious ad endorsement money.

BTW read a report Troy Cooley has accepted a 3 year term as the new bowling coach at NCA. If this is true kudos to the team behind this tabdeeli. Next to get Jonty as the fielding consultant at NCA and for the national/ A teams. We are perhaps the worst fielding side among test playing nations.

Absolutely agree. can someone please start performance watch thread of debutants/new players under Rohit. I hope he makes a brand new team.

 

PS: what people are not factoring is Kohlis PR agency which will jump on Rohit if he looses even one match in this series, specially first one and first series at home and away

Kohli’s agent is Rohit’s brother in law.  Ritika worked on Rohit’s account. That’s how they met.

Of course VK will be back whether we like it or not and will be in X1 for next T20. 

What we can wish for 

1) VK will play very few T20s till next 6 month so that  we can identify players for our MO .

2) will play at #4 instead of #3 under normal circumstances , in case of excellent starts , will  make way for  power hitters .
