check out Prasidh and Avesh when they debut. both are tall and fast with capability to bowl 145k at will. with good height they are likely to suceed like Siraj.

 

i think Umesh should be the last pick for Africa ( among pacers). i expect dravid to decide whats right and not pick players on seniority.

 

pujara and rahane should get back to domestic cricket and guide other batsman now.

And I think Shastri played a big part in India's 2 test wins in Australia 2020-21.
 
He was always known as a person with a good cricketing brain and aggression to aid that.

Just after Siraj picked up 40 freaking wickets in just 5 Unofficial Tests for India-A in mid 2018, there was a test series at home vs the West Indies. 

 

Siraj was picked in the squad. Key pacers are rested but Shardul was preferred over him in the 2nd test in Hyderabad despite Siraj being in red hot form. 1st chance of test debut missed.

 

Next came the tour of Australia. Bumrah, Shami and Ishant were the obvious choices. But Umesh was perceived as being poor away from.home at that time. We played 4 pacers at Perth 2018/19 and Umesh was picked as the 4th pacer and bowled without any intensity. 2nd chance of test debut missed.

 

Then Ishant got injured and did not play the last test in Australia. Siraj could have replaced him then. 3rd chance of test debut missed.

 

We played against a weak Bangladesh in late 2019, Bumrah was missing due to injury and that was another opportunity to try Siraj. 4th chance of test debut missed.

 

We travelled to NZ in early 2020. Ishant missed 1 test due to injury.  5th chance of test debut missed.

 

I have given you 5 instances when Siraj could have debuted without dropping any among Bumrah, Shami and Ishant.  

I agree with only 2 of these 5 examples you gave :

 

1. Yes, Agreed, should have picked Siraj. 

 

2. Umesh Yadav travelled a lot with the team for 3 4 years, it's only fair that he gets a chance ahead of Siraj. 

 

3.That was the SCG pitch where Kuldeep took a fifer, that's why Kohli preferred a spinner ahead of him, victories in SENA are very important, can't risk it. 

 

4. We played our top 3 seamers bcoz it was a WTC match and our pacers needed some match practice bcoz that was the last test series before NZ tour. 

 

5. Yes could have used Siraj there.

BTW the Kohli PR did something similar during WTC final, celebrated prematurely after Clown hit a 30 and then went into hiding with fellow PR jokers for a couple of months.

Kohli is both a good and terrible captain. Rahane would have done just as well as kohli if siraj played last game. 

Rahane doesn't deserve to be in the team for his poor batting anyway. Let's just forget about him 

 

Kohli himself should be kicked out. He only has one more series left to prove his worth. His captaincy is under threat. We need maybe rohit or ash as captain. Future can be pant.

Kohli does not need to prove his captaincy nor his batting to anyone.He has done more than enough in both aspects that he does not need any further validation.The bigger point for Kohli is his batting form.Is it terminal decline or can he come out of it.

Anyone but Kohli as captain. Should have happened right after Aus series. Each series he leads us in, takes our cricket further back Irrespective of the results.

Just pointing out the comical attempt by the OP to sell the theory Kohli as a captain was the missing link in this series. This Mumbai match would have been won even under KL Rahul. It is that easy.  You don't really have to do anything.

Biggest achievement of this so called GOAT captain (only for the Kohli PR) - leading the team to a series win in Aus sitting 5000 miles away (as per his coaches)
