The test captaincy debate is settled .

The fast bowler's captain is back and so are the fast bowlers.!
With every passing test the claim of being the undisputed GOAT ASIAN captain is becoming strong. It's quite obvious that Kohli's greatest contribution to Indian  test cricket was establishing a fast bowling culture and this step would take Indian cricket to new heights. 

After the Border - Gavaskar trophy , some dumb posters were telling us how Rahane won us the series with his captaincy (LOL) and that Kohli's departure was a good news, now Rahane is niggled out and the team looks totally different, this team looks like the GOAT ASIAN team  that we wanted to see.

Under the same goat captain, bumrah went wicketless in multiple matches lol. He literally made fast bowlers redundant in the series by ordering dust bowls after Chennai loss

 

Rahane hasn't lost a single match and record will stay forever. Just because Kohli has bigger clout, he's staying in the team with his **** form unlike Rahane

Chalo, let's agree he is a very good test captain for the sake of official kohli PR manager in ICF. But the question is does he deserve a place in playing eleven as a batsman. Another non performing captain?

Even Rahane woud'nt have picked him if other fast bowlers were avaliable.

GOAT captain won nothing in 2018 in England and South Africa and could only won in Australia when Smith and Warner were absent.

 

He again won nothing in New Zealand in 2020 and when he was absent, all of a sudden, India won in Australia with all their players back.

 

GOAT captain surely shouldn't have let ABD and Root take away matches from his hand in those two series in 2018. He is just an Asian pitches bully, all thanks to the fact that there are just not any world class spinner in SENA teams for Indian conditions. The one time they had one, Lyon, we saw how Rahane saved us in the final test of that series from embarassment.

I agree that Kohli was largely responsible for building a genuine fast bowling attack in test matches. Gone are the days when we had to pull RP Singh from a vacation to bowl few overs.

No, he did not.

 

Just after Siraj picked up 40 freaking wickets in just 5 Unofficial Tests for India-A in mid 2018, there was a test series at home vs the West Indies. 

 

Siraj was picked in the squad. Key pacers are rested but Shardul was preferred over him in the 2nd test in Hyderabad despite Siraj being in red hot form. 1st chance of test debut missed.

 

Next came the tour of Australia. Bumrah, Shami and Ishant were the obvious choices. But Umesh was perceived as being poor away from.home at that time. We played 4 pacers at Perth 2018/19 and Umesh was picked as the 4th pacer and bowled without any intensity. 2nd chance of test debut missed.

 

Then Ishant got injured and did not play the last test in Australia. Siraj could have replaced him then. 3rd chance of test debut missed.

 

We played against a weak Bangladesh in late 2019, Bumrah was missing due to injury and that was another opportunity to try Siraj. 4th chance of test debut missed.

 

We travelled to NZ in early 2020. Ishant missed 1 test due to injury.  5th chance of test debut missed.

 

I have given you 5 instances when Siraj could have debuted without dropping any among Bumrah, Shami and Ishant.

Yes with old man khujara and chokli marvelous batting display of painstaking zero score which set the match there.

Rahane is undefeated. Even with a weakened team he beat Australia. Kohli can't. 

 

Rahane is the better captain. Rahane is a trash batsman so he would never get in the team anyway. So who cares.

Well until he loses we can't comment about it. He did win in Australia with a weakened squad. Kohli had many bad games as kaptaan. New Zealand series. 36 all out. WTc blunder. 

 

Kohli's issue is selections. He is biased towards his favourites. Besides, he only picked pujara and rahane because he himself has a floundering record post 2019. 

Kohli shouldn't even be in the team along with rahane. He has been beyond pathetic for almost 2 years now. He is fit so I will give him a pass. He needs to regroup and get his form back or else he can kiss his test captaincy good bye too.

And I think Shastri played a big part in India's 2 test wins in Australia 2020-21.

 

He was always known as a person with a good cricketing brain and aggression to aid that.

 

With a new captain at the helm, Shastri could express himself fully.
