Yes. Not enterprising. Appears to be extremely conservative. I know he values the experience. This is where separation of duties have to come in. Opinions of coach/captain can be taken. But final decision should be made by selectors. They should ensure there are no passengers in the side.

Kohli and Ishant are Dehli mates. Kohli has a responsibilty to support Ishant as long as he is captain. Ther's a reason why many of us are just wishing Kohli to go away...

saha is better than the other 4, although that's not saying much.

Ashwin has changed a lot as a bowler, his overseas average in the last 5 years has been amazing.

He has a say in handling a team selected by selectors. Only captain has a say in selection, not the coach. Things changed after Guru Greg fiasco. Since then coaches are limited to on-field affairs, strategy, tactics, XI selection.

definitely Saha had to be there after his decent performances in India..One wouldn't give debut to a rookie directly in alien conditions if Pant is injured, so its allright..

But other three selection dont make any sense...its almost like they have used fevicol to book their seats..

Selection was never really a job of coach. For that, you have selectors.

No Umran,  Kartik Tyagi Avesh Khan or heck even Porel in the standby list.  Deepak Chahar & Nagwaswalla mysteriously find their way into the squad:adore:

Deepak and Arzan are in the standbyes. You mean to say we need to take new inexperienced players and lose the series? Other than Ishant, all are doing good.
