Why Do you think one test wonders like SoK, Ajaz or even Lyon have been way more effective than the two greats previously? Hint - it's not just the batsmen's fault We have duds against spin. India was one team that always produced great players of spin. Regression started only in recent times. Even Mumbai Ranji team bashed him. On the same pitch Agarwal who regularly plays domestic bashed Ajaz. But others made him look good.

Just because they bashed our bowlers left right center doesn't mean they didn't struggle against spin. I showed you clearly nobody in the world sucked worse against Pakistan than our spin unit. Atleast Kumble had some decent to great spells. But Bhajji wilted against almost all subcontinent sides especially Pakistan. If Ashwin was that talented, he would not be outbowled by Moen Ali in England and he would have won India test series in SA in 2013 itself when team gave him 448 runs to defend in fourth innings.Stop making Ashwin into Warne.Ashwin has played in most spin friendly wickets we have seen in last decade.

Well Warne didn't exactly break through our line up in 2001. Bhajji picked wickets. Does that make Bhajji > Warne. That is not really an example. This outbowling concept can be used only when they bowl to same set of batsmen. That is a testimony to how much we suck as a batting unit now how much Moeen is superior to Ashwin. I can give you so many instances where our yesteryear greats went wicketless for hours and hours even in subcontinent condition. Remember how Razzaq and Kamran stalled us on day 5. 448 to defend doesn't mean South Afircan condition will become suddenly bowler friendly. Bowling two very good batsmen. Why couldn't seamers break them apart if we were that good? huh? bouncers, Chakdephatte, Vijy and 1 other 1 3

Gollum Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 (edited) 'Absolutely Filthy': Nathan Lyon Tears Into Selectors, Coach Over Last-Minute Gabba Snub Dropped for a home test after 13 years. He is already 38 and hasn't had impactful performances for the last 2-3 years. May be the end of the road for a modern day legend. 140 tests, 562 wickets, 5 ten wkt hauls, great career. For me, the second best non-Asian spinner of the last 40-50 years. Underwood has a case but he played most of his cricket in 60s and 70s. Edited December 5, 2025 by Gollum Lord 1

The headline is a total misrepresentation of what is said in the article. He didn't say the selectors were absolutely filthy. He said that he was feeling absolutely filthy. As a competitive athlete, something would be very wrong with him if didn't feel absolutely filthy. putrevus and Lord 1 1
