would say lyon. bhaji chucked alot. lets be honest. he bowled on some absolute spitting cobras to stat pad. He did reasonably well overseas but i am not convinced he is better than lyon due to his chucking. he would have got called alot in the modern era. he can bat though.

Lyon has nearly half of his wickets outside Australia. That gives an edge over Bhajji. He was mediocre outside Asia except WI. Even in SA, where he has a 7-fer, he did badly in other matches. Bhajji though, has a series winning performance against Australia.

Spotting cobra? Hardly, with a few exceptions, pitches in 2000s were usually flat, good batting pitches with some turn. There were hardly many spitting cobras like Mumbai 2004.

He may have chucked or maybe not, unlike Murali or Chuckmal he didn't use doosra or teesra that much!

That's absolute BS, he bowled on the most flat tracks in India throughout 2k vs great batters & no DRS - pretty sure he'd avg under 30 in this age easily.

Again you're exaggerating, if his stock delivery was chucked at then your point would be probably fair but just like Lyon he relied a lot on bounce & overspin.

Debatable, only his doosra was dodgy from what I recall & he definitely wasn't an abuser with it like the two mentioned above!

He isnt as talented as Lyon imo. Each to their own.

I meant the pre 2000 series when we beta Aussies 2 -1. Dint he chuck blatantly?

Pre 2k, you mean 2001 one? Most of the wickets were due to big bounce he got, bat pad or slip, & some dubious umpiring lbws. Unless we have footage that conclusively proves he chucked I can't see him any worse, or better, than Murali who literally got away with multiple murders on the field :cantstop:

Murali 100% chucked. I can never rate that guy. Bhaji is questionable but fair enough. I agree he wasn't chucking as bad as chuckmal or Murali lmao.

Bhajji has 400 test wickets 2000 runs. (He has an average of 18 batting with 2 test centuries) Only kumble, kapil, ashwin from india can lay claim to that 400/ 2000 combo.  Bhajji won 2 icc world titles..he has 250 plus odi wickets.    As a cricketer Bhajji is way above Lyon. Purely as an offspinner Lyon is at par at the most due to his performances abroad. Also remember Lyon always played as a sole spinner more often than not. Bhajji had to compete with Kumble..

Who is better, Bhajji, Ashwin or Lyon?

Ashwin and it isn’t close.

Ashwin was a non factor in many away tests. Ashwin never faced the might of Srilankan batting or Pakistan batting  in their full glory.

Bhajji was very good in shorter formats also.
