Communication was completely broken post 2011 WC as Dhoni became the undisputed ruler of Indian cricket due to Srini's blessings. Same Dhoni shamelessly dragged his own LOI career till 2019 WC and but for the pandemic, would have played the last T20 WC as well. Poetic justice that he himself did not get a farewell LOI match after running away from Test cricket in the middle of a tough Australian tour. Yeah blame everything on BCCI, Srini mama and Dhoni. All the while ignoring bhajji was a passenger for most of his last few years. farewell games are overrated. Sachin got his "perfect" farewell because he planned it to the tee and BCCI had no power to stop him playing until 40. Sachin's post 2011 performance was meh considering his standards. They had no power against Dhoni for his "taking it deep" into his career but unlike aila, thaila doesn't believe in farewell games. he makes decisions on the fly and disappears like his test retirement. Some of these statements like a biopic etc. may be aimed at stirring the pot to remain in the news cycle while he makes up his mind on which party to join. This is more like it. He is either so stupid and full of himself or smart enough to use this to keep himself in the loop Vijy and raki05 2

I know, but he got a farewell, with players from both sides clapping and respecting his last match , was my point

What is so bad about farewell match? It is nice knowing when a player is playing for the final game before the match starts, it adds some extra intersting context, fans can have a moment reminiscing the career. You are telling ne, you don't want a moment like this for kohli? https://youtu.be/idqNGVPPEDA Dhoni himself said he wants to play his last ipl match at Chennai, so he's also planning about his farewell game in his favourite format

Are you saying Srini had no role in Dhoni retaining his captaincy? What's good for the goose should be good for the gander. Those double standards are what Bhajji has rightly called out Edited January 4, 2022 by ShoonyaSifar Stan AF, Vijy and Pollack 1 2

Are you saying Srini had no role in Dhoni retaining his captaincy? What's good for the goose should be good for the gander. Those double standards are what Bhajji has rightly called out ada rama There are more factors into the 0-8 under Dhoni. He should have lost his captaincy and his place in the test squad questioned no doubt. But he was carrying giants of world cricket much less India's in SRT, RD, VVS and he was in no position to ask these legends to step down. Heck he couldn't even get rid of underperforming Ishant because he also cried like a baby to the media to save his place. Bhajji has been underperforming for many years and he was a low hanging fruit. Even he didn't go away without screaming. You can imagine if he did the same to SRT. Also SRT was the one who nominated him for captaincy. So Dhoni took the easy way out in letting him retire on his terms and let Gambhir who took offense on that ODI series down under where they swapped openers every match to deal with it. Dhoni encouraged Gambhir when he came on to the scene. Its just sad the way how it turned out in the end. There is more to why we failed than just Dhoni and the evil BCCI and Srini mama. Maybe you're believing Bhajji too much and don't think he has a selfish motive the way he has come out.
Real McCoy Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 @ShoonyaSifar If Jimmy Amarnath had his way and made Gambhir the captain, do you think Gambhir with his "tough" approach asked SRT to leave And what about people like Amarnath who blamed Dhoni and "regional" mama but he was more regional than mama himself. Despite Kohli's poor performance which continued in the world test championship match, he came out in support of rat. "jimmy" amarnath is the most regional bullshitter of India and it was rich for him to blame srini for picking someone who is from jharkand and happens to play for Chennai in IPL. srini mama was more business minded than amarnath. I made a post on amarnath before
Clarke Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 lol @ biopic Ever heard of autobiography bhajji ? Slap some keyboards instead of Sreesanth this time.

I made a post on amarnath before Jimmy, Kapil, Madan lal and co were all very regional to the core, typical old "assi Punjabi' stuff, at one point when Kapil was captain mediocre Delhi, haryana and punajb players got international caps for free, Sanjeev Sharma, ashok malhotra, madan lal went on for so long eventhough a mediocre bowler most his career, roger binny was way superior, raju Kulkarni, ta Sekhar all had better credidentials than Madan lal, Prabhakar and Chetan Sharma, this was another ghai fellow from Delhi that also played for India, probably around 75 mph trundler. NameGoesHere Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I have the perfect opening theme song to Bhajji’s biopic. ”Chaanta Laga” (to the tune of Kaanta Laga) performed by the popular rock band - Sreesanth and My fellow monkeys.

Vk1 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Even though conducting official farewell games is a bit too much, bcci & TM should create a culture where players inform the team in advance about their retirement.. players being champions they might think they can turn it around or still have enough to contribute but its the responsibility of the TM to sit with them and tell them about the future plans and direction of the team.. this is where a General Manger/ Director of cricket can contribute along with the coach & captain.. teams with minimal player pool like NZ seem to be doing this, its high time BCCI does this
Texan Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 How about calling his biopic: "Most undeserving cricketer to play 100 Tests" ?
