Yes that's a bit of an issue, we'll need some luck to get to 200+ (overall target) if the pitch continues deteriorating though I have a feeling a lot will depend on our "stalwarts" in the middle right now!

This is a new SA team with a lot of new players. Not easy handling the pressure in the 4th, especially for an inexperienced team. There is variable bounce on this deck. 

 

India can take the Siraj injury in their stride if they bat out 50 overs tomorrow. Thats 40 overs which can easily split between Bumrah shami and Thakur. 

 

Ofcourse india should bat as much as possible, as there is more than enough time in the test.

I think only 250 is safe, and India needs to bat really well in the tough morning session before runs can be piled on in the 2nd. Its difficult to see Ind giving a lead of more than 180-200 here. A long tail and no in form batters left.

Pitch might get worse tomorrow ,especially close to EOD ,it was already misbehaving in the final session.

I'd say 210-220 should be more than enough but can't see India scoring 250 here ,we need a fluke innings by Thakur or pant

We need to set a target of at least 300, but I don't see how that will happen with our inept experienced middle order jokers at the crease. We might need Lord Thakur to shine again, this time with the bat.

Out on the field he is on his own. Pant had to make some suggestion. I don't think there was any coherent plan in containing the run flow.  He didn't know whether to attack or defend. He kind did nothing in the end. Philander criticized his field set.

The 38 run 7 th wkt partnership between maharaj n jansen was crucial. Siraj couldnt even run and bowl and he was a fielder. It should have been somebody else fielding. He couldn’t even gauge an easy catch from Maharaj.
