sarcastic Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 While Parthiv may be a good critic, I beg to differ from him. Virat Kohli should be in playing XI only in the conditions where his batting is more suited for. Do you agree with Parthiv?
Majestic Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 I agree because Virat plays with pretty good intent in the powerplays. Rohit has changed his game too at the top. Rohit Virat SKY KLR Pant Pandya Jadeja/Axar raki05 1
vvvslaxman Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 They should experiment by sending him at no.7. raki05, Frustrated, Lord and 1 other 4
jf1gp_1 Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Ideally Kohli is not an automatic in playing xi. nevada 1

Hope he somehow manages to find some good form for a few years and take the opportunity to retire.. This so called bad phase has lasted too long now.
singhvivek141 Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Not a bad idea, going by his current form he is gonna struggle against spin which can add pressure on others in middle order. Atleast if he will show some intent at the top we might get a reasonably quick start on which likes of SKY, Pant, Hooda and Pandya can capitalise. raki05 1

His frontfoot ga me is letting him down with reflexes going down. Besides Pakistan does open with a spinner.
Mariyam Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 (edited) I saw parts of the video. Parthiv Patel has the rare distinction of being one of the few people to go from childhood to old age, skipping youth altogether. Edited August 15, 2022 by Mariyam Mosher, raki05, Vk1 and 4 others 7
Need4Speed Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 whatever place he plays..if he plays with 120-130 SR it wont help in new high octane T20 batting trends.. he needs to develop some ramp shots..some paddle shots etc Vk1 1
Need4Speed Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 we dont want him to make Rohit run harder b/w the wickets and pull his hamstrings or some other injuries too

Need4Speed Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 (edited) well..he helped team chase so many matches..so credit should be given for that..unfortunately..in current phase of cricket..batting tempo has increased a lot courtesy..England..so one needs to improvise..plus..more T20s..and lesser ODIs..that is not helping many players who need some time to settle initially and pick up scoring rate later..one needs to start hitting from the start.. Throwaib_Chuckter Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Yes let him open. Whether he succeeds or fails, it'll probably become evident within the power-plays. The rest of the team will then get the opportunity to either capitalise on a good start or try to recover from a bad one. Batting lower down after a good start might make him feel extra pressured to egg on the scoring rate and lose his wicket while trying too hard(We've seen this happen). Or if we've lost a wicket already and Virat comes in and goes cheaply(We've seen this too), suddenly we've copped a right hook followed by an uppercut. Granted, we may hopefully not see a regular recurrence of these themes, but in both cases Virat batting lower down gave the team an extremely slim chance to adjust in a rapidly changing format like T20. Serpico Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Might as well let him open if he's going to be in the XI. But coach should give some serious pep talk about intent in powerplay. Shadab did major damage last time by neutralizing all batsmen except pant
Jay Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Best player ever from Asia. Deserve a ton of respect for his achievements. His mindset is what keeps going. He will never ever give up. I admire his perseverance. Any other average individual would have given up after the last 3 years. Not this bloke. He is built different. In his mind he has won everything and that's what separates the best from the rest. Norman and singhvivek141 2

rollingstoned Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 So we are back to the 2021 England series situation in that we think getting Kohli to open might be a viable option.

It's a joke. Kohli is a joke. That's my opinion. Right now I am trying to understand what it feels like to be a kohli fan.
