Jokes apart,that was the toughest group. They should have played sensibly against NZ making sure loss margin remains minimal...

* 1985 World Championship of Cricket 

* 1992 ODI WC

* 2022 T20 WC 

 

Now with the pattern complete for the two formats, next time Aus may go on to win it in Aus

I think they were lucky last year with tosses. They have never played this format seriously enough to win.

Strict instructions from ICC to not even try qualify. Yesterdays illogical dropping of Starc was clear indication. ICC wants new Champion in every WC. They’ve taken cue from IPL GC of giving strict instructions to habitual winners MI to not even try qualify as you never know, the bleed blue teams becomes unstoppable once it qualifies to semifinals.

As many said, first game loss.. They knew home rain conditions, they should have played it smart the first game (middle order batsman) to loose by smaller margin

Youngest's guy in playing xi was cummins who is 29. Openers and keeper above 35. Even guys like stoinis are 33. Basically half the team shouldnt be playing t20 hence the result.

Don't know if NZ can go all the way and win the WC but one great thing they did early in the tournament is delivering the knockout blow against Australia.

 

Aussies surely won't be forgetting that.

Their bowling doesn't seem to be that threatening, even afghan batting was in the game till the last few balls & only lost because of their in experience.

this too, halfway through the game it was obvious they weren't going to get the total, instead of reassessing and going for decent total to save their nrr they kept going for it like an inexperienced minnow.

• Starc-cummins - they shud move on from these 2 now in t20i. Cummins is not that good in this format and starc if he wants to get back needs to start playing some leagues
