deepdynamo Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 The defending champion and one of the favourite for the home world cup crashed out embrassingly . What went wrong ? 1. Didn't take t20 seriously. 2. Too many oldies and has been players instead 3. Big Bash performers were ignored.

vvvslaxman Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Tim David was supposed to terrorize the world didn't he?
jalebi_bhai Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Warner flopped. Man of the tournament last time, didn't step up this time. Bowlers also didn't step up enough. They have to refresh their core batting unit. Maxi or Stoinis are ready to lead imo. Besides all that, a little unlucky to get eliminated having only lost one game.
nitinbwj Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Finn Allen happened and all their bowlers travelled long distances. Their bowling has been piss poor. nevada 1
nitinbwj Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Starc, Cummins, Hazelwood didn't look threatening at all. Green failed plus Warner.

Norman Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 They lost a grand total of one game which usually happens in this fickle format. Can't look too much into it. They're still a quality side. Who knows they might have won against England at the G if it wasn't rained off. express bowling, Stan AF, Vk1 and 2 others 2 3

I can't remember Aus being hammered like that in Aus. sage 1
Laaloo Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 They were in a much tougher group to be honest express bowling and Stan AF 2
Scarface Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Their bowling did not fire in a tournament where bowlers are ruling the roost. Cummins- not suited for T20, Starc+Zampa - out of form, Hazel - how much can he do. Also bad luck to lose the toss in SCG (been a nightmare to chase) and rained out in MCG. deepdynamo 1
Majestic Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Warner + bowlers failure was reason. Guys like Maxwell and Stoinis are good players but will be hit and miss. Can't expect them to win you a World tournament on their own. deepdynamo 1
Vk1 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 most t20 bilaterals between SENAI played on flat pitches.. ICC conducting T20 world cup in Gulf - toss biased/slow pitches or in off season in Aus - I just don't like these < 160 scores deepdynamo 1
Stan AF Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Nothing much really. Their 1st match loss was huge and it put them in a backseat . Ever since they've been trying to play catchup with run rate but fortunately/unfortunately england and NZ were better than them.
SM2907 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 One game lost by a huge margin and then the wash out. It's not like they were thrashed in the group stage. Nothing much to read in the exit. Vk1 1
adi B Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Too many players who have taken the spots for granted ,Warner, Smith, Finch starc all have been playing for 10-12 years, it's bound to fail. They need to freshen up their t20 squad. Too many oldies in their current squad like ours. But they were unlucky because of the rained match with England ,they could have won that. But they should have no qualms ,just won their title last year that too in the SC . Vk1 and express bowling 2
coffee_rules Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) First match loss and rained out match against Eng hurt them the most. It helped them that Eng lost to Ire, but the first game huge loss couldn’t be reversed, they were playing catch-up. Pressure to win at home is negligible. They hardly had any local crowds Edited November 5, 2022 by coffee_rules
