If Jaddu and Ashwin can take “ fitness “ inspiration from Jimmy Anderson …India will set more home domination records

Jimmy is almost 41 as a fast bowler, and still at his relentless best.

How amazing it would be if Jaddu and Ashwin can continue in this vein for 4 more years.

Jaddu will be fit, Ashwin is thankfully not a quick bowler if he can take care of his tummy he should clearly play another 2 at the least.

Ashwin should retire from LO completely, just play IPL & the odd county season! He could play another 4-5 years easily if he can maintain his fitness, same for Jadeja.

Jadeja will play this year's WC and then can focus on Tests

No need to look at English players when they can look up to ex Indian Legends

Fitness is my passion

Whatever we say this bloke scored centuries against peak Malcom Marshall against windies. Won  a kind of Champions trophy in Aus. Scored a 200 in Sydney and took 150 test wickets..retired at 33 didnt mess around and came to commentory like a tracer bullet and as a coach won in Aus twice plotting smith’s downfall.. better average than KL Rahul..

Yes & its should ideally be his last LO ICC tourney, but like I said in the other thread IMO Jadeja prefers the LO game. Maybe not more than tests overall but certainly more than Ashwin.

Jaddu will play IPL but can be told to quit LOIs.

Ashwin has chronic hip issues and back issues - these are non-trivial.  Its not a "tummy" thing.

People don't realize how much of a strain on your body you put when you play test matches as a bowler.  On top of that, Ashwin is a really tall guy and that often leads to more issues with flexibility and overuse injuries in players as they age.

So its not a given that as long as Ashwin puts in the fitness work, that he'll be ok.

ashwin does have major physiological issues. can't see him playing beyond 1-2 years. jadeja has also been getting injured often due to his insistence on playing all formats and as many games as possible. he may be around for 3-4 years but with declining effectiveness

If he can just be preserved for home /Asian tests  and selective tests in SENA ( and reasonably compensated for loss of income in other forms of cricket )  - he can eke out another 3 years. I think he himself will be super motivated to achieve 500 test wickets. Which may take atleast 2 more bumper home seasons.
