not including the batsmen with short careers like Hayden , Sehwag etc

What is special about the 5th name from your list?

Considering players with at least 5 seasons only-

ABD- As he batted at a tough position, was so versatile, and destructive

Warner- His consistency over 10 years is unmatchable

Russell- Tougher role. So average is not high but impact performances are countless.

Gayle- Destruction

Raina- Game awareness

Want to see more of Buttler before putting him there.

Mine would be( purely on batting):

Warner

ABDV

Gayle

Buttler

Raina

The likes of Watson, Russell, Pollard will be right up there in terms of all round( bat+ bowl) performance.

I would still put buttler ahead of raina. for consistency, brat has also done quite well, albeit not as much as warner.

good list, and I agree with most of it

Kohli's 129 strike rate works against him.

I won't compare Raina to an opener. Wanted a list with representatives from all batting roles.

Definitely not Kohli and Rohit

Also, I feel Samson is getting there too. Just need to be a bit more consistent with that strike rate he has maintained. He has been playing from long time too.

Their strike rates are low, but they will probably be the largest aggregate run getters by the end of their careers. People will probably rate them highly for this.
