express bowling
It's Bumrah. There is no other contender for me. Mosher, Adamant and raki05 3 Link to comment
zen
Difficult question as I don't think there is a clear best esp. if considering one for multiple formats. In tests, I have enjoyed Srinath's ability to bowl at pace and run through the sides. Zaheer has been good with both swing and reverse swing. Ishant has been a workhorse. Shami comes across as a relatively complete bowler. Bumrah is highly skilled. Siraj is getting started. Link to comment
singhvivek141
If we're talking about ODI and Tests only..it has to be Shami, one of the old school bowlers who has an impeccable seam position, pace and accuracy. I would rate Kapil a very close 2nd, sure he had his ups and downs but being an all-rounder he managed overall decent numbers with mediocre support at the other end. Srinath third because only at the last 2-3 years he got support from Agarkar, Nehra and Zak. Else 1992 he was the one man army considering Kapil declined and Manoj Prabhakar is just LOL. If we include T20's, there is no one around Bumrah. He is the most complete and versatile bowler we have ever produced. Edited June 4, 2023 by singhvivek141 Link to comment
jf1gp_1
Ashish Nehra. Played all 3 formats and has reasonable success in all 3. Putting him ahead of Bumrah cause he has world titles to show. Link to comment
Adamant
Bumrah .... and its not close. express bowling and raki05 2 Link to comment

Bumrah has ATG potential, Siraj is the second best pacer I have seen from India and even he is not as good as Bumrah. Sandz, express bowling and raki05 3 Link to comment
Majestic
I would have to go with Kapil Dev here. In Test cricket, he has got 434 test wickets at 29. That was record breaking during his time. In 5 years of his career, he had picked 247 wickets at 27 in 62 tests. Guys like Bumrah in their 5 years have got half the number of wickets. AKane, singhvivek141 and Lord 3 Link to comment

vvvslaxman
T20? then we have to restrict our selection to last 15 years. Bumrah is the only one who has done well equally well in all formats. Economy rate, strike rate, average. Ticked all the boxes in all three formats. singhvivek141 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Bumrah has achieved world no.1 ranking in T20 and ODI. In Tests no.3rd in the world. No one else is remotely close. Since we have T20 i excluded Kapil. He achieved no.1 ranking in the world both in Tests and ODIs Edited June 5, 2023 by vvvslaxman Link to comment

Stan AF
Talentwise zaheer was way ahead of everyone. Too bad he didn't have the fitness and work ethic to support it in his prime years. Link to comment

Gollum
If Bumrah steps up in ICC KOs he wins this, not sure now. He has choked far too often and the sample size is pretty big, his surrender in last WTC final was shocking to say the least. Lord 1 Link to comment
zen
In T20s, the cricket has now moved beyond bilaterals to ICC events and the annual IPL event. Link to comment
putrevus
Bumrah is a serial choker of highest order. He has not delivered in tests ,odis and t20s in big spots. Kapil delivered world cup on his own at age of 24 leading team of nobodies. Link to comment
