Malcolm Merlyn Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Vikram Rathore, the perennial chair holder in BCCI, said India's batting coach said, "Ajinkya Rahane played really well in the WTC final. He has always been a good player. We hope he will do well in South Africa. You will need somebody like him to come good". Rahane avgs 36 in SA and has no hundreds. He was dropped from the side after the last SA tour. How is it justified to take him to SA? How long will such injustice continue? Popular Post singhvivek141 Posted July 17, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2023 Vikram Rathour might have compared his batting average to Rahane...and concluded the same. Frustrated, Laaloo, rollingstoned and 10 others 13
Frustrated Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Vikram Betal and Hahane ...Both are decent nighwatchmen. Similar batting skills and similar thought process. raki05, rollingstoned, nevada and 2 others 5
nevada Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Yeah, why bother scoring match turning knocks when you can stat pad to a sub 40 average with cheap runs and reserve a seat for the next several series? singhvivek141, raki05 and Frustrated 3
express bowling Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 It's basically a Friends' 11 masquerading as India 11. We are the fools here because we keep watching them play. tweaker, Sgattick10, raki05 and 1 other 4
Lone Wolf Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Haters gonna hate but Rahane will eventually lead India to a historic series win in SA after Rohit & Dravid get sacked as India fails to qualify for Semis in a home WC. Karate Kid will turn up to rescue Indian cricket. The Prince that was promised in 2011 will claim the throne. Coach Andy Flower Captain Rahane VC Gill Chokli retires after getting owned by spinners in Home WC on turning pitches. Majestic Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 I think he can score a couple of fifties in that series. So, not a poor choice.

That's bound to happen if you make your batting coach a player who averages in teens. If BCCI wanted a "Vikram" they should have selected Vikram Solanki, heck even Kamal Hassan would have done a better job as batting coach. Rathour sahab should go. express bowling and putrevus 2

Bharat Arun as bowling coach did very well.So IMO personal success or stature of a player should not matter when it comes to coaching but this guy has been stinking for long long time. Lord 1
