England , Srilanka , Netherlands are three teams we should be beating even with Hardik rested

My concern is that would he be able to bowl at that intensity when he comes back. HArdil as batter isn't that good to warrant spot in the team.

3 spinners and 2 pacers is risky. Unless SKY is also dropped for Thakur.

So why do they all have to be together to do it ?  Bumrah was out with injury.  But Shami, Siraj etc. played multiple ODI series this year. 

 

Surely, the batting coach could have got them to train with a basic power hitting stance or whatever .

 

This should be an on-going practice and not something that only happens when the squad is finalised for a World Cup.

Don't think Indian team want 4 pace + 2 spin option if Hardik is 100% - especially if we are playing ANUS team with lefty - Ash has a role to play....Could 'rest' Siraj for eg....

We have played with 4 pacers + 2 spinners in all the games but one, till the time Hardik was last available.

When you twist ankle there is bound to be ligament damage. But good thing is it is sprain and no ligament tear which takes 4 weeks.. the move is precautionary.. he ll definitely play against saf or Netherlands at the least before the semis if we qualify
