The Hound
The day started with England firm in the drivers seat looking at a small total to chase, then Shami and Bumrah added around 90 for the 9th wicket and set England a total of 272 in 60 overs. With only two sessions, there was little to no chance of an Indian win but all the 4 pacers bowled their heart out and shared all 10 wickets between them. Bumrah & Siraj particularly were outstanding. Link to comment

Norman
Not even close. Yes an exciting test match and a great win but that England batting line-up was straight up garbage barring Root. Just 6 months before this test, we won our greatest test match overseas and I don't think I need to spell it out. Rightarmfast, Number, bowl_out and 6 others 9 Link to comment
Popular Post Norman
It's very difficult for future Indian Test teams to outdo what Rahane's men did in Brisbane 2021. Even the MCG win in the same series was outrageous following the 36 ao humiliation, but it gets forgotten due to the enormity of the Gabba win. Series decider played at opponent's out and out fortress... 80% of your starting XI is out injured.. your captain and best batter has left the series in the middle.. 4 out of your 5 bowlers were initially brought in as net bowlers..lost the toss..were in a match losing situation at half way stage...and still they managed to do the unthinkable. Only thing that could come close to such a thing is if India wins a WTC final at Lords beating a strong Australian or English side. New guy, Manucrick, bowl_out and 9 others 4 4 4 Link to comment
Nikhil_cric
Sydney Test was the most impressive I've ever seen from an Indian Test team overseas The bowling was absolutely destroyed on a flat track(flattest day 1 conditions at Sydney since ball tracking began) and yet Ashwin and Vihari kept denying the OZ and broke their resolve with some some real stubborn batting. Draws in Tests are usually exceptionally boring. But this was something else. Sgattick10, cowboysfan and nevada 2 1 Link to comment
Majestic
Perth 2007 was extremely special after all those dramas that unfolded in Sydney Test. I would have to say, Gabba 2021 and Perth 2007 are top 2. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
That England side was a crap side lol They were collapsing left right center against all sides. That was exactly why India should have finished the fifth test and gone to plya IPL Link to comment
goose
this question depends on if you like to intellectualize wins by dwelling on the resources before play starts, or focus more on the game itself and the emotions there. of course there is both to consider. i am more in the latter camp Cricketics 1 Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
The Gabba win would be the biggest Test win for me, and that 2020-21 series win in Aus is the biggest Test series win ever in our history. To me that away Aus series win was at par with a WC win. Link to comment

Reaction from Grade cricketers after Gabba win lol Link to comment

It was re-creating Rocky in cricket with the difference that this was actually not a fiction! When Pant hit that shot down the ground I felt the same way I did when Dhoni hit that 6 to win the WC in 2011 - over the moon! That match is the reason I would back Pant, and have a soft spot for Gill despite his failures. And why I rate Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar a tad high New guy, Norman and vvvslaxman 3 Link to comment

vvvslaxman
Pakistan has a stellar record at Perth & Gabba. played 11 tests lost 10 of them. That one draw at Gabba came when Pakistan was staring at a lead 353 runs with 3 down in the 2nd innings with 270 behind rain saved them. Essentially they could have had a clean slate in those 2 venues if that match had had a result. Lord and singhvivek141 2 Link to comment

Pitch really flattened out and pink kookaburra was doing nothing. I reckon that's why Pink ball test is now only reserved for Adelaide where it moves a lot under lights. Only Eng India Windies I reckon have won in Gabba. Link to comment

Only 1 match in the last 20 years in 2011. Link to comment
