Frustrated Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 If NRI kohli needs our sympathy, then so do Pujara (who contd.. to bat with a broken thumb while facing Hazlewood, Cummins at Gabba & played 150+ balls), Hahane (who won us BGT with a 2nd string side)
figo6762 Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Chokli, lolhi , dhoni , sachin in his last days, dravid in his last days , is the cancer the plague’s Indian cricket … it should be removed ….. if Karun nair was thrown away after a triple why shouldn’t lolhi be discarded like a used condom hanging off gutter in the streets …

We will probably never see a batsman of Virat's calibre again. In an era of T20s/IPL, chance of India producing another batsman of his level and dedication is rare. You simply don't find a batsman who scores 50 ODI & 29 test centuries everyday. BCCI want to give an over extended rope just to see if he can regain back his form. The pleasure he has given to we fans between 2012 (starting from Malinga innings) till 2020 Covid was immense and can never be forgotten. Think we can all give him back a little bit more support now when he is down. I think we as fans should be behind Virat Kohli in this troubled times and hope he had a great BGT. Thos was said after every successful batsman from Gawaskar,Tendulkar to Virat. On current form ,if he is dropped No one will miss him.If selected correctly there are many who will.get the work done nevada, express bowling and Frustrated 2 1

I think he can play for couple of years more in home tests if he can maintain his fitness. Don't think he will play in BGT through as Sundar in red hot form. For Rohit, BGT will be his last. Infact, I will not be surprised if he has already played his last test. He is not playing in the 1st game in Perth and if India does well, I don't see him coming back. His PC yesterday also gave a lot of clues. Jadeja and Kohli's future depends on BGT performances. Both will be dropped for Eng series if they don't perform in Australia Sundar being in red-hot form unfortunately means that the end is near for Ashwin. We have BGT and England series in the next 6-8 months. The next home Test is a year away if I remember correctly. Ashwin will be 39 and might play his last test series there after warming the bench in Australia and England.

Gavaskar calls out youngsters every chance he gets. He was upset with Gill for getting out and apparently was livid with Sundar for bowling no-balls. But not a peep from him regarding Rohit & Kohli batting like tailenders in the top 4. Or the way Kohli was bowled off a full-toss ot ran Pant out or ran himself out like a headless chicken. Or even the fact that Kohli averages 30 since 2019 while taking up the most important batting position (no. 4). Sunny G should phuck right off. His brown nosing has reached the level where it's difficult to differentiate between Sunny G's nose and Kohli & Rohit's shyte. Gill misreading the line of the ball is bad but Rohit & Kohli throwing their wkts away every innings wasn't. I would argue that Gill's dismissal was less egregious than Rohit or Kohli's multiple innings this series. Gill was at least trying to put a price on his wkt and his dismissal was due to a technical issue. But Rohit's hoick showed he doesn't really puts a price on his wkt. And as for Kohli, his dismissals have shown he simply doesn't have it in him anymore. I can roll my arm over pretending to bowl spin and Kohli would probably get out. We've had anough of Kohli's failures since 2019 and it wasn't as if he was lighting up the world before then. His best innings came in meaningless bilaterals with barely any impact. Whenever we needed him to stand up he was the first one to run away with tail between his legs. As an example 2015 WC SF, 2017 CT Final, 2019 WC SF, 2 WTC Finals, and the 2020121BGT when he literally ran away. The Indian team has looked better without Kohli as we saw during 2020-21 BGT and the Eng series at home where Jurel looked hundred times better than Kohli. And we're seeing how good the T20 looks compared to our Test and ODI teams with geriatric Kohli in it. Enough of him and can't wait for him to just phuck off to IPL and try win something there. Adamant Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 I am not really in sync with the OP’s views considering Kohli is not showing hunger anymore, skipping practice sessions not playing any domestics etc. If he was playing domestics, I would have bet on him for sure. The only thing I could agree with is that BCCI definitely thinks that because Kohli was one of the greatest batsmen in his peak years in all formats, they want to see if he has a final flourish and they believe that it can happen. Before the last world cup everyone in IcF wanted Kohli to be booted out of Odi world cup and then we witnessed the greatest ever world cup by a batter. I think he should be dropped from tests because that’s the only fair thing, in Ofis he definitely deserves his place irrespective of the Sri Lanka series.
nevada Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Kohli has overstayed his welcome and needs to go. He is 36 years old and is a walking wicket. His best contribution in two notable test series wins(Aus, England) is his absence! He can help India win by permanently stepping aside. Frustrated 1
vvvslaxman Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 He has been getting out the exactly same way for like 4 or 5 years. Either seamer bowling at 7th stump and kohli edging to slips or getting bamboozled by orthodox spin bowlers.
The Realist Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 "Virat Kohli has been out of form for five years now – he’s basically John Crawley without the hundreds" Last 5 years of Kohli and the company he is keeping but yeah just need more support and time... Virat Kohli: 34.24 (with 3 hundreds in 35 Tests) John Crawley: 34.61 (with 4 hundreds in 37 Tests) Lou Vincent: 34,15 (with 3 hundreds in 23 Tests) Wavell Hinds: 33.01 (with 5 hundreds in 45 Tests) Shaun Marsh: 34.31 (with 6 hundreds in 38 Tests) Alviro Petersen: 34.88 (with 5 hundreds in 36 Tests) KL Rahul: 33.87 (with 8 hundreds in 53 Tests) Kohli has averaged less than 30 in 4 of the last 5 years vvvslaxman, Ultimate_Game, saransh and 2 others 3 2
Bigg Brother Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 There is no case to support him. He just can't come and play according to his wish. Didn't play BGT 20-21 ,came directly to Chennai test and India lost, had to resort to pathetic pitch doctoring later to equalise series and then win it. Later lost WTC final and did zilch. Again rinse and repeat in 2md cycle and did zilch in WTC final. Now same in 3rd cycle, too. The main batsman of team hasn't contributed at all in last 3 test championships, it is like playing with 10 players only. Stan AF, nevada, Frustrated and 1 other 2 2

Coz you haven't factored in the runouts he creates and the easy catches he drops. His actual contribution after factoring in runouts and dropped catches would be negative. Bigg Brother 1

Rohit was never a test batsman where as Kohli was a terrific test batsman all his life. Rohit don't even deserve to be in test team, let alone being a captain. Kohli should have led India for few more years and groomed someone like Pant under him for taking it over. The entire fault of the present situation lies with Ganguly who screwed it big time. Ganguly actually wanted Kohli to continue as test captain but kohli's ego made him quit test captaincy. Austin 3:!6 and express bowling 1 1
Need4Speed Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 (edited) For me Kohli..is always best in ODIs..but ODIs nowadays are losing attention\attraction.. T20s..even though he made 50 in final but..he was not in my wcup-xi..Jaisawal should have been there.. In tests..From the start..I knew he is mentally strong but his issue of fiddling the ball outside off stump..and weakness aginst spinners..which kept on growing..it never gave enough confidence on him..in non flatter conditions.. I have always admired Kohli for his attitude on field and what he has done for India..The chasemaster has given us great moments and dominance but I believe we need to move on..even though the younger guys replacing him may not do well too..but its the right approach to take some losses for giving them experiences.. The missing fulltosses..run outs..they are not helping..he probably has lost some hunger..and focusing on his family..and thats fine..but if he his not playing domestic matches..when you need to be prepared..it wont help.. Time to move on..so new generation..gets some experiences.. Other oldies shoudl do the same..we need to build for the future..if we are getting whitewashed at home..on the tracks of our choosing..with all the experienced players..its time to move on..as they are not getting any better.. Nikhil_cric Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 It's a little difficult to sympathise with the whole situation. This is a man who, after being thrown out of Indian T20 captaincy, allegedly took pay cuts from RCB because he was a team man and wanted to help build the team and now when he's completely finished as a T20 batter is retained for 21 crore? Unfortunately Indian cricket is high on PR and very low on memory. Instead of reworking his batting technique to cope with age and loss of ability, he kept getting out in the same way in Tests forever and refused to up his attacking shot percentage in T20I's and work on his shortcomings there either. If he wasn't up to it, he should have done the right thing by quitting one of the formats to work on his game instead of selfishly clinging on to his spot in both formats. Ultimate_Game 1
