while Bumrah was intimidating, he was making the ball talk.

 

on top of that what a lovely character. Love the drama, his innocence, passion and intent.

 

he will be one of my fav crickers of all time for sure regardless of how rest of his career pans out.

Totally agreed here.

 

He (and Saini) emerged at at time when we were struggling to find quality pacers. He made an immediate impact and has stuck around and given some excellent performances. He could be a bit more consistent especially at home, but the positives outweigh the negatives. I still think he debuted 2 years too late.

I can never bring myself to dislike this guy, even when I knew he is pretty much a passenger in the team when he is in the XI on turners and bowls like 3-4 overs.

 

India vs Pakistan game in 2023 WC, when the pitch was looking extremely flat and Pakistani openers got going, Bumrah seemed to be having an off day and it starts looking like CT'17 final all over again, this guy comes and out of nowhere bowls an indipper and gets us first breakthrough of the day.

Then Babar-Rizwan get the partnership going they are 155/2 in 28 overs and seems like we will be chasing a big one, he comes and bowls Babar with a cutter and starts the collapse.

 

People like me who saw endless supply of Kumars, he seems like a massive upgrade to us.

He bowled well. But his scrambled seam bowling at home irritated me no end.  He didn't get the best out of SG ball because of that.

In post match intvw he admitted his run up got short..seems he dont know why? weird..arent coaches and experts helping him?

Problem seems to be in his non-cricketing aspects and that's not something I say about any player in general.

He still doesn't bowl with upright seam position which i still have problem with. Probably kookaburra suits him more than SG balls

commies said even Pat Cummins dont bowl with upright seam..and bowls with some dirty seam..so even doesnt know which side it will move..forget about batter..

Siraj if has to bwol with wobbly seam..tahts fine..as long as he bowls with accuracy,pace and intensity..you just need a little movement either side to unsettle the batters

His issue is consistency; you can't go from 4-5 wickets one game to zero in the next and going at 3-4 an over!

Short run-up reduced his pace by at least 5 kph.
