I think one of them is retiring end of this series. 
Possibly Rohit if he keeps batting the way he has been this series. Kohli is still delusional that he can turn things around. So he might stay over.

Ganguly led board's selection Committee stopped picking him altogether and kept saying he is rested lol. The only good thing Ganguly did. Otherwise Dhoni still has massive massive PR going, he would still be around.

Kohli isn't going anywhere before the 2027 world cup. May retire from tests a year before that though. 

 

Rohit previously said he wants to play 2027 WC but looking at him physically it's not looking possible. Probably retiring after CT.

Srinath was made to sit while Kapil and Prabhakar played.

 

At that time Kapil found it difficult to send the ball one drop to the keeper with the older ball. 

 

Lots of voices were raised against this.

 

Kapil retired immediately after crossing Hadlee.

Kohli has been delusional for 5 years now and for turning things around he needs to be batting more, and not picking and choosing when he plays....

We nearly had 80+ winning percentage in Odis during coach Thanos and Bevda era across formats

 

Any Indian team will win a lot in group stages. Look at our T20 team or when a team is selected without these so called seniors - they win. World cricket barely has 2-3 good teams and beating the rest and getting to knockouts is not really a big deal. Being in the top 4 is given for India when you have likes of Bumrah, Shami, Kuldeep, Pandya in your lineup.

 

The real contest starts in the knockout stage when you actually come up against good teams and we've faltered everytime with the Dynamic Duo, especially the fake King. And it's not just ICC knockouts. Take his performances in IPL playoffs where he has played 14 matches and his performances are at Mandeep Singh level with an average in 20s and a SR in 120s. That's a huge sample size of 14 IPL playoffs. Plus we've already seen what he does in Tests in big moments like WTC Final or in Aus when match is in balance.

 

Better to bring in likes of Jaiswal and youngsters in ODI as well similar to T20s so the ODI team can be rejuvenated. At the moment it's looking extremely old and jaded and we couldn't even beat SL. We need an infusion of youth there.

When guy like Bumrah kept laying eggs in semifinals and finals or any knockouts, what can any batsmen do.

 

If they have to keep scoring 400 plus run in knockout then why are bowlers in the team.

 

It is very unfortunate that guys like Rohit and Kohli have not lifted 50 overs world cup .

 

Retirement is personal choice, let selectors do their job .

Chokers have to show up and do something as well to lift WC instead of filling their boots with cheap runs. Couldn't chase 239 in 2019 SF and were dismissed 240 in the final at home and then blame bowlers.

 

What exactly are the bowlers supposed to do? Bowl opponents for 150 so "King" Kohli and "Hitman" Sharma can score those. Against NZ in 2019 SF all they had to do was to see off Boult and Henry's first spell with the new ball. Even a score of 20/1 off 10 overs would've won us the game. What did our superstars do? Ended up being 5/3 and then morons like you blame bowlers.

 

In 2023 WC final, Rohit at least gave a decent start with India on 80/2 off 10 overs. Even if batters had scored at 5 an over in the remaining 40 overs we would've ended up on 280 and probably a few more in the death overs would've taken the score closer to 300. That would've given bowlers something to defend. Bu "King" Kohli couldn't do jack shyte and choked as usual putting a paltry 240 on the board. And who gets the blame - bowlers.

 

We saw the same shyte in WTC finals too where "King" Kohli failed as usual and couldn't do anything. Cometh the finals the so called "King" Kohli replicated his performances from IPL playoffs as is the norm with him.
