Of all his bowiling exploits I ll remember the 2 batting innings. One was a marathon in sydney with backpain and one with 1 ball 2 runs to win in that Melbourne match. And he calmly let the ball go for a wide and next ball hit it over mid off. The first one led path to the series win and the second saved us from a life time of trolling. Good bye and good luck..

That was my first impression of him. He was unfazed by the occasion, super competitive despite being so young and showed good skills in PP bowling. Instantly we knew he is our spinner for the next decade.

If you go to ICC facebook page, people from all nationalities giving him tribute. But Pakistanis keep on posting those 2 sixes by Afridi in Asia cup 2014.

What a sorry bunch of losers

Trying to cope up with facts that their "legendary" Waqar was Bekar against India.

He has lost all respect that he had gained courtesy of his cricketing days.

Extremely biased against certain players (specially batters), while leave nothing while blaming the bowlers.

No wonder, Kapil Dev had conflicts with him. He must have treated likes of Kapil and other bowlers like slaves in his playing days.

Gavaskar needs to retire from comm box,it's about time he too leaves and let the young comms come and improve on calling games

Gavaskar has no scope of improvement, has been several tiers below than his contemparies

He talks about the just obvious, doesn't bring any flaw or glitch which noone notices or laymen notices with batsmen

He is an ATG for me, but why retire before SCG match, is it some sort of revolt against Gambhir?

Anyways, our greatest test cricketer amongst those who debuted in this millennium.

Sundar is a better option going forth. If we need 2 spinners, in a fair world, Ashwin doesn't make it any more, NZ series made that quite clear (even Eng series earlier this year where Kuldeep was our best spinner by a distance). Can't drop Jaddu because of his exceptional AR skills.

Maybe, he is not feeling fit enough or hints were dropped in dressing room that Sundar is ahead of the race.
