Bigg Brother Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 Maxi is understandable as he was 36. Why Klassen so early ..Next wc in SA and he performed beastly in 2023 wc as well.

vvvslaxman Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 I expect Lockie Ferguson to follow suit. He gave up central contract last year. Signed by sydney thunders for 360000 USD.
bowl_out Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 33 year old retiring before home WC. Meanwhile, we might go in with a 40 year old captain Throwaib_Chuckter, Lord, wanted_desi and 2 others 1 2 1 1
crictime Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 With Maxwell performing so badly in IPL this year and the next T20i cup to be played in Asia, I feel he had lost the chance to stake a claim.

Think Nz players are following a pattern here they give-up on contracts to play for 3 years of league cricket may be pick 3-4 league contract around the year and after 3 years may be one of the league takes them as part of tm. think this is a good future plan for top end players. 3-4 years of league cricket when they are still regarded v.good can fetch good mny and then take up coaching or something with those teams. 3/4 years means 12 league seasons (IPL, bbl, ILT20 and SA).

White saffers have no interest in representing the nation where they are opressed in the guise of quotas everywhere. Same will happen to Vishwaguru India when it will implement quotas and kill merit. Gollum Posted June 4, 2025 Posted June 4, 2025 (edited) Maxwell has a terrific record in WCs, integral part of their 2015 and '23 winning efforts. 200* against Afg despite cramps will be held in the same breath as Kapil's 175. Avg 45+, SR 160 in WCs. Add to that his handy bowling (choked us in 15 SF, 23 F including that game changing Rohit wicket), brilliant fielder/catcher. Big miss for Aus. So no Smith, Warner, Maxi for them in 27 RSA, very difficult to fill those shoes. Starc too will be 37 by then, Hazlewood 36, Cummins 34, Zampa anyway looks finished and is in his mid 30s. Big opportunity for someone other than Aus to stake claim, by 2031 Aussies will be back as the team to beat. Edited June 4, 2025 by Gollum Lone Wolf and raki05 1 1
kepler37b Posted June 4, 2025 Posted June 4, 2025 In absence of addiction to individual worship, sportsman prioritize other aspects like passion and confidence while making the decision to retire.
