Indian cricket team without Bumrah

Good. We may have a chance of winning like 2nd test! :giggle:

I understand his body will not cooperate, but if he is going to have to pick and choose and not be available for the team on a regular basis, it is best he retires from test cricket and focus on white ball only. Or TM takes him out of test contention and just plan without him so we can build a bowling team for the future without Bumrah. It will be hard, but better to plan that way.

Or he can be in the squad, and we can just rotate all the bowlers like we rotate Bumrah, and that way, it is not a "Bumrah" thing. The way I see it now, Bumrah was Akash Deep's replacement in Manchester. Deep is back now and Bumrah sits.

It is more his medical team that advises. The way i see it he needs a longer break to get healed. But at this age he cannot have one more long break. So he is trying to play selectively possibly with slight niggle. Given how bad our next gen bowling resources it is a case of something better than nothing. Until SCG test he was at full tilt in every single match. I thought he was rejuvenated. Then Rohit happened. Bowled him to the ground. He is not a work horse. Gill also made the mistake of using him for 33 overs. Possibly he had the knowledge Bumrah won't play the 5th test.  You still don't overbowl strike bowlers on road pitches.

Unless India finds another strike force Bumrah's shelf life will be very short. You go with an idea of using Bumrah for 20 to 25 overs. But in match situation when everyone else sucks you give him 30 to 35 overs.  This is one of the reason why they even picekd Thakur. But Gill for bizarre reason gave Thakur 12 overs, Hardly used Sundar. 15 overs to Kamboj. India needs a reliable partner for Bumrah. Siraj is better than others. He is still not the ideal.

India definitely needs another work horse type of bowler. Fit and ability to bowl long spells.

For that you need to have fluid bowling action for sure.

This can't continue forever

Either he needs to get fit for all test or india needs to move on

It breaks all the momentum and team combination especially his replacement

Long term it's not viable

India without Bumrah

1. Siraj bowling at 130kph avg, getting smashed at 5 p.o.

2. Mukesh Kumar "attitude of soldier" with his red gutkha filled mouth bowling at 126 kph, bowling no balls every over.

3. Anshul Kamboj bowling leg stump half vollies at 124kph

3. Shardul Thakur, bowling at 125kph with his body in Mumbai and tummy in Bhusaval.

Every single team rest and rotate their fast bowlers and done throughout history. From brett lee to akhtar to archer to wood

What is wrong with you guys? This is where common sense is severely lacking in Indians when it comes to fast bowling.

Gill overbowled him in Old Trafford. Thakur was hardly used, Sundar came in 70th over and immediately made impact. Awful captaincy.

In a way it's blessing in disguise.

BCCI will be "forced to" explore new pacers as their over dependency on Bumrah is getting exposed.

Any sane board should have planned about it since 2022 itself when Shami started showing signs of aging and decline. But BCCI was busy counting notes from IPL.

Rana did nothing wrong to be pushed down the pecking order.
