sage Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-runs-in-a-series-282849 Bradman's record stands at 974 National record is Gavaskar's at 774 Gill is @ 607 after 3 matches
LordPrabhzy Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 he will fall apart form wise.. typical English swinging conditions are coming.. his front foot plonking wont work anymore nevada and Kothili 1 1
coffee_rules Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 Doubt he will cross even SMG's record. Seems to have issues , unless Manchester to Oval are flat pitches Kothili 1
The Realist Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 Pointless milestones. Has zero value if series is lost. BacktoCricaddict, nevada, Frustrated and 2 others 1 4
Frustrated Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 Obsession with individual milestones is one of the reasons why our team is in dire straits.
vvvslaxman Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 He did his bit in the 2nd test. 3rd test if he had done 10% of what he did in the second test we would have cruised through. That is the way luck rolls. Got out to innocous stokes delivery in the first dig. BacktoCricaddict 1
Bigg Brother Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 This is not personal milestone. If someone scores 900 runs, it will help team immensely. If we lose despite him not breaking Bradman's records, it will be other batters' fault, not his. 900 runs in 10 innings means he did his part. AnotherRaj 1
putrevus Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 It is looking like first two tests was a anomaly than him turning the tide. Frustrated 1
The Realist Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 More likely to break the record of losing tosses

vvvslaxman Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 I hope he comes good in the 2nd innings. Twice he got out to incoming delivery. He has to revisit his strategy. He was standing way outside the crease in the first 2 tests. Then STokes pulled off the move of pushing keeper upto stumps. He did it on and off. Since then Gill is not standing out i guess. He has to go back to that strategy.
sage Posted July 27, 2025 Author Posted July 27, 2025 gill is at 720 runs now 1 match left 54 runs behind gavaskar to break the national record 254 behind sir don
putrevus Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 He battled hard in second innings but again that 100 milestone nonsense costed his wicket.

putrevus Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 I like the fire he has shown in this innings but unfortunately he couldn’t make a big 100.

That 774 was not against best WI bowlers of 71 series. Look at names of 71 WI team. Even in 78-79 series score above 700+ was against depleted 2nd string post packer saga in India. putrevus and Gollum 2
