Pat Cummins and Travis Head have turned down lucrative offers worth AUD 10 million (Rs 58.46 crore) per year from an IPL team group to quit international cricket and play in T20 leagues across the globe.

MI should get them in the squad. Need soomeone like Travis Head in power play. Pat Cummins alongside Jasprit Bumrah will also be a much better pace attack.

Aus players aren't as poor or money chasers as WI players.. their central contracts are in the $Mil dollars and they actually have pride to play for Australia and Tests, plus they make enough money by playing IPL as well.

It's a grey area. For players belonging to impoverished cricket boards, this is a boon. For players from well off nations, not so much.

Zero incentive to ditch their national side and face humiliation. CA pays them well.  Couple of months in IPL they earn easy cash lol

IPL franchises have a larger eco-system now, and many of them would be looking to create a core of players for themselves as the number of player(good players) is  limited sure some franchises would have reached out to them formally/informally to check their thoughts.

 

Few years back same kind of news emerged wrt eng players.

 

Last yr ecb restricted/was thinking of restricting their players to IPL  only when players rumoured to have said they will retire and play those other leagues.

 

 

Aus players are bit different in that respect, starc never came to IPL in his prime.

 

With such larger eco-system of IPL franchises they will create a core fr themselves, its hard to go around every season and look for players

These IPL Owners need to realize one fact , value of  international stars not playing for their national teams decreases a lot.

 

IPL without international stars is just a domestic t20 tournament. Don't kill the golden goose.
