maniac Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Now Tests we should win easily and England might put up a fight but our LOI team is really bad. The English line up with the string of hitters,90+mph fast bowlers, allrounders, spinners would absolutely kill us unless we prepare dust bowls for LOI games as well. Our team right now bar Kohli just doesn't have that factor in ODI's and T20's to compete with the English team....we might pull an odd victory in the ODI but in T20's absolutely no chance. Remove your ultra patriotic glasses and just see the squads and do the comparison. It will be a huge surprise if we win the LOI series. Tests it is the other way round...if England win it will be counted an upset. Mosher, asterix, tweaker and 1 other 4
Laaloo Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Well we are used to England embarrassing us both home and away under Dhonis tutelage tweaker, asterix and Rasgulla 2 1
sandeep Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 So what if they do. Indian selectors will not make massive changes unless they can CYA. tweaker 1
asterix Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 NZ team can be managed for a Diwali fake show down win, to fool the public. England is on a different level all together. They are also not 'manageable'. So be ready for any unexpected results or as in Dhoni's case against England, expected results. tweaker 1

What do you want selectors or Dhoni to do, if there are no players to pick what will they do, it is not like there are next Yuvraj or Sehwags sitting and they are not being selected. tweaker 1
WC2011INDIA Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 (edited) Yes. It's happening. I had predicted in the test match series that NZ will give us tough time in ODIs and T20s. It will be much closer than the test series. So far proving right. Don't be shocked if they win T20 series. Odi is possible too, but i am expecting India to win on the Vizag patta. Eng will humiliate us in shorter formats unless we create rank Turners/dust bowls and bundle them for paltry scores. But then our batsmen will struggle as most of them suck on low and slow pitches. Test series won't be a cakewalk at all. Expecr a very gruelling and tough series. Edited October 26, 2016 by WC2011INDIA tweaker 1
Vilander Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 For England series the Indian team will be full strength, start to finish. Its profile is much higher than this series, no offence to NZ. tweaker 1
Mosher Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 We will get owned by England if the pitches are flat 300+ run pitches. We will do ok on slow turners. maniac and tweaker 2

jusarrived Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Like I said in the other thread . Rohit , Rahane , Pandey and Jadhav cannot be in the same batting linup . you can afford to have one or two such players and get away , but not 4 .

Ankit_sharma03 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Story wud be diff once rahul, dhawan, jadeja, shami, bhuvi, ashwin, raina all return (only if they are not rested which i doubt) U wnt see Mishra dropping 3 catches Raina, jadeja wud up the fielding more. No more Phainty to dhawal marshal Fight btw dhawan n rahul for top spot will bring better perfomances. I expect even rohit to bounce back . Is there any bowler who can trouble him in ENg bowling @maniac. U knw what bowling troubles him. Rahane wont have any place My concern is dhoni doesnt have any cricket in btw to get his touch n practice a diff approach. velu 1
Sajid_Rana Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 India has surprisingly regressed in ODIs and have become India of 90s totally dependent on one player. It was Sachin in 90s and now Kohli. Last 10 to 12 years India had a powerful ODI team with Sehwag,Rania,Yuvi & in form Dhoni. Good to see this regression as a Pak fan.

Bilateral ODIs are meaningless if you are always competitive in big games likes the World Cup. I cant say the same for Pak though.
express bowling Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Just the return of KL Rahul should make a big difference to this ODI side.

Rahul is also an opener for starters....He is no Sehwag who will give those blazing starts....he might be a slight upgrade over Rahane the ODI opener or even comparatively start much faster than Rohit but he is not going to make a world of difference. Apart from Root and Kohli similarities rest of all the English players are 90+S/R players or can go even faster if the conditions favor them. velu 1
fineleg Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 (edited) ^ @express bowlingKLR is good, but NOT a one man army like SRT or ABDV or Kohli or Kevin Pietersen. Plus he can go thro is own low score series too. Edited October 26, 2016 by fineleg

Anyone who has seen him bat in the last 6 months will know that he is hitting big shots at will while playing long innings and has shown the ability to tackle and hit pace and bounce. Not talking about blazing starts but long, responsible innings at a high SR....which is the need of the hour.....so that there is someone other than Kohli to take primary responsibility to allow the others to play around them. If one fails, we still have the other one to bank upon. We will then see MSD play more freely and Pandey and Co. can play with less pressure. Our bowling has looked good in this series even without our main bowlers and the batting needs another pillar with Rohit and MSD not in form. Edited October 26, 2016 by express bowling Mosher 1
