End of Saha's Indian career?

Kumble said in his interview yesterday that Saha is still the first choice. Interestingly also said that DK wasn't considered because due to some reason he isn't keeping wickets for TN. 

DK clarified that in an interview .He has a hairline fracture injury so isn't keeping this season.

Either way Karthick is another awful keeper .We really need to look to the future not the rubbish past

If Vijay does not play next game because of the injury which was mentioned, India might be playing too many different players. They are better of then sticking with Patel as opener in the series even if Saha comes back as keeper.

PP is a far superior batsmen & I honesly dont see much difference between their keeping . Saha has muffed up quite a few chances and he looks a pretty poor keeper against spinners though against Pacers hes extremely good .

The big difference in their batting will show when we play overseas . Parthiv has the technique to score on any pitch . if the choice ie between these two , I will be inclined towards PP

In terms of keeping quality there isnt much difference between PP and Saha,but PP is a far superior bat.

I hope selectors don't get swayedby Parthiv's42 run on my.His goal keeping effort in first innings should rule him out of any future RR all even if he scores a hundred.

You have to say Pappu's batting was quality, especially given he had to open against Anderson and co. early in the morning.  But his keeping.  We need better keeping than that for the Indian test team.

Pappu can play as "extra batsman" if at all needed. Not as a keeper.

PP is like Dhawan flamboyant, Saha is like Vijay in terms of their approach to batting. I suspect how PP will bat at 7 once regular openers are back. PP is elegant to watch but can be too flashy at times and he was lucky to not edge  some of his wild swings in the morning.

That was only one though. After that he settled down. I only saw two that went past the outside edge. I think woakes first over and then stokes slower ball which went on the bounce to Bairstow. Otherwise everything was in the middle of the bat. He kept hitting to the fielders. Unlucky to get a few more runs really.

PP is a more rounded player than Dhawan . I wudnt call his batting flashy , his body balance is amazing when he drives or pulls , unlike Dhawan . Hes a decent bet for a 40 avg batsmen and the big difference will be when we play overseas . Saha is more like mongia than Vijay .

I wasn't comparing their ability but style. I can tell one thing in demanding situations, Saha will come good more often than PP and he has already showed that.

PP has battled out a draw for team India when he was barely 18 - don't underestimate his grit with the bat.  Its his keeping that's just intolerably poor.

Where has he shown that in demanding situations??? In Adelaide, played a horrendous innings and got out in 4th innings. Even in Rajkot, when we had to just shut shop and block, he came out trying to hit out and again got out. His 4th innings average is 5 runs - hardly any contribution in really demanding situations.
