I have to hold my hand up. Was never really a big cricket fan. But there is something about the diversity which has me happy. 

 

India v England attrition cricket. A slow battle with spin. Grit and determination. 

 

Sa v Aus, and Nz v Pak, no nonsense result oriented games with swing pace and bounce. Added attraction of day and night cricket with the pink ball.

 

Different qualities put together compulsive viewing. Celebrating the diversity in test surfaces.

 

Like to add that I have never been one of those "test cricket is the real cricket" snobs. I enjoy ODI and T20 cricket. But happy with another viewing dimension in one of the formats of the game I love. Test cricket may not be as dead as we think.....I am sure TV audiences have risen.

I have always liked test cricket the most among formats.

 

Now that we are the number one ranked team and have won the last 4 test series on the trot including 2 away series.....I am enjoying it even more.

 

Our established  batting quartet of Kohli, Rahane, Vijay and Pujara are enjoyable to watch and are giving us a solid base in batting. Rahul is an exciting talent to look forward to.

 

Really enjoying multiple genuine fast  bowlers bowling together for India . Shami has been the best to watch for me.  Have a good swing bowler too.

 

Ashwin's ability to pick fifers for fun at home and his recently developed batting ability is adding something special to this team.  Jaddu has been an able support.

 

Kohli's  priority of taking 20 wickets at all costs and his positivism are adding much more fun to test matches....and Kumble's addition to the team management has been a  big plus for this team.

I have always found the longer format more interesting.The twists and turns every session is so exciting.

I love watching on weekdays.The whole house to myself :coffee:,no one fighting for remote or going"how can any one watch thiiiiis for five days":y:

I hate it when friends come over and assume "yeh to five day walla hai.....chal gup shup karein":whack:

 

I hated 20-20 when it started...but IPL got me:love:

I have always been huge fan of test cricket. It all started after India had won the NatWest Triseries 2002, legendary win but can India win the Npower test series, BIG BOYS cricket was tough after all.

India lost the first match, managed to draw the second but the big turn around came at Headingley, Leeds. Tendulkar's 193, Dravid's 148 & Ganguly's 128 ensured India didn't have to bat again, We won by an innings and 46 runs. 

India had to win the 4th match at The Oval to win the series and do the impossible but England scored mammoth 515. India replied with 508, Dravid took the centre stage with a HERCULEAN 217  to ensure a draw. 

My dad was elated, he told that India has achieved a monumental task by winning the ODI series & equalling the test series. He made me realise what a colossal achievement it was.

I just fell in love with Test cricket and Dravid. :aha:

 

India's away series losses under Dhoni were humiliating:wall:, I had lost interest in test cricket altogether. It has been all uphill since Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2014, although India lost lost the series there was a change in attitude and approach under Kohli. More result oriented games, pink ball cricket, DRS debates have added to the charm of test cricket.

So I agree 'Test cricket is the REAL cricket', 'It separates the MEN from boys'. And 

 

PS: England couldn't avenge their 2001 series loss to India.:phehe:

How did you develop interest in cricket? Most of the girls I know and my cousin sisters watch cricket only if the players they find cute are playing. You're probably the first woman I know who takes actual interest in the game and not only limited overs cricket but also tests.

I started watching  around the time Yuvi and Kaif had that amazing match.

 

Later started watching all kinds of cricket.No one in my family watches cricket.My father, brother ,husband...no one watches.

Only my brother in law watches.Now my daughter sometimes watches with me...:love:

 

Of course cute guys like Dravid and bhuvi make it interesting ....:p:but that is not the reason.

I have yet to come across a lady who is as passionate as you towards cricket, let alone test matches. Devru olle buddi kodli.

For me the interest has lowered a bit in Indian matches since Dhoni retired(as compared to the LOIs India play). Watching Aus vs SA has always been a treat over the years.

yeah I'm also missing all those centuries and match winning knocks Dhoni used to hit overseas and his astute captaincy to boot.
