Trichromatic Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 It seems as if they are following the game or not into commentary. Quite surprising tbh.

kosingh Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Gavaskar too. They don't even do their homework or sufficiently keep up with what is happening around the cricket world. Really no excuse for a commentator not knowing how exactly things like umpire's call works on DRS, etc. express bowling 1

Most commentators treat it like a vacation, and feel entitled just because they are former cricketers. Absolutely no homework or preparation. Hussain, Doull and Bishop are few of the commentators who seem to put in some effort. MCcricket and WeStMiDz 2
Temujin Khaghan Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 (edited) if you see vaughan, nasser, athers etc... they might not know every player in the country but they have good information about their own county players... for example if there is a new player from essex making his debut, and on being prompted nas can give some decent information about him. i dont think you can expect even that minimum homework or awareness from our ex players... Its actually HARSHA BHOGLE who normally follows first class cricket and can give information about all the debutants. Shastri and Sanjay need historian and statisticians to be right. Even during match, Gavaskar would analyse the game better than Shastri. If some close event occurs on a delivery Shastri would be first one to get it wrong. I remember how when Ganguly started commentary, he would sometimes contradict Shastri during after a delivery and Shastri's assesment would be proven wrong in the replays. If Shastri had to become an umpire, he would have failed miserably.
King Tendulkar Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 (edited) The only domestic insight they ever have is when jadeja hits a goood shot they all bark about his triple tons in first class cricket lol Edited February 12, 2017 by King Tendulkar maniac, express bowling, Masquerade and 4 others 7
kira Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Man these Indian commentators seriously need to be banned, they make me cringe so hard, today scott styrus was commenting on why some Indian batsmen have lower average in the second innings, he said since Indians are usually trying to score quick runs in 2nd innings so they get out quickly which is why their averages are low in 2nd innings of the match, in comes brown nosing piece of shite aka sanju manju with his inferiority complex and says that in 2nd innings it is tougher to survive due to pitch doing so much and that is also reflected in the poor 2nd innings averages of Indian batsmen meaning Indian batsmen have poor technique to bat in the 2nd innings of the match

Vk1 Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Rahane was on some 18 of 25 balls when he hits a six and shastri said he is a team man to the core and will take his chances. It was funny
King Tendulkar Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Siva spouting " like a tracer bullett" makes me physically sick . Siva sense of humour is awful. Does not understand sarcasm at all . Takes it all literally . Cringe worthy Sidhoni 1

cowboysfan Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Its embarrasing really,Simon Doull calls them on their **** and cringeworthy. They have been spouting nonsense for so long that its diffcult to change.
Sidhoni Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Have we ever had an Indian commie that ICF hasn't had a problem with? I agree LSRK and Manju can be horrible at times. But Shastri has legendary status just on the basis of his voice being a part of our best cricketing moments. Also don't know why some dislike Gavaskar. Even when Dada was commentator I remember he wasn't really liked.
King Tendulkar Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Manj it terms of actual cricket insight and analysis easily the best sunny is basically in retirement . No research no nothing . Just says anything that comes in to his head . Most stupid thing ever said by any Indian commentator was by him a few years back " we should not try and bowl fast as we Indians can't do it " he said that live on air !!! shastri not too bad . Siva is an oily rat . How he is a commentator is beyond me .
WeStMiDz Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Generally speaking Indian commentators don't get the banter that the foreigners bring to the commentary box. The most hilarious example was in a previous series where the topic was selfies. Manjrekar came out with some comment that the problem with selfies are that he tends to end up cheek to cheek with the other person. The quick witty Doull replied 'I'm not sure what kind of selfies you've been taking Sanjay'. Of course this was just banter and should have been brushed aside but Sanju Manju had to go on the defensive and gave a lengthy explanation as to why it's the case as he has short arms which totally killed the humour. There are many similar cringe worthy examples. cowboysfan, tweaker and King Tendulkar 3
coffee_rules Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Why do guys even bother listening? I watch matches on mute and only unmute to hear the third umpire speaking.
King Tendulkar Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 The only when who gets humour is gavaskar. But he ruined Rep for years being on srini pay roll and just sucking up to dhoni and bcci on air now just rocks up no research or anything . Hardly even aware whose playing lol
