Both sides will pule up 400+ in the first innings. Would suggest batting last here. Good toss to lose.

Tough to predict after first match, it does not make a lot of sense. 2 innings around 100 means there is something wrong. Either the other teams did not manage to exploit this Indian weakness or Aus is a phenomenal team, looks former is more likely. With Aus strong pace attack and lack of Shami the odds of India going up on a fast track is pretty much moot. With the current perplexing vulnerability to spin that Indian batsmen are showing, it appears a spinning track which should have in theory assured an Indian win is borderline improbable to moot. So its going to be a flat deck first 3 days and crumble last two, meaning toss will be crucial, its back to 2000's, pretty disappointing. Shami needs to come back and be good and one to three batsmen need to apply themselves and get some daddy hundreds for this series to get comfortable and predictable( Vijay,Pujara,Kohli,Rahane can do it), till then its a nervy toss up game i am afraid.

Usually Aussies are their worst own enemy on flat tracks....They score too quick which always gives the opposition a shot on flat pitches....Hell even Pak and Srilanka have given them scares in 4th innings on flat tracks in their own den before.

Unless Warner or Smith make a ridiculous score liek a 300 or something,India will be favorite on a flat track.

As it seems like a flat pitch we should bat first, put a big score on board. If we bowl, bowlers have to do something special to give us advantage as spinners wont have much help on first day. Batting last will always be difficult on any Indian pitch.

Similar chest thumping was done before the series started too. Bookmarking this to check end of the series.

If we bookmarked each time you whined there would be no room for bookmarking. I don't know if that makes sense but whatever.

Kinda worried since they handled Ashwin on a turner better than Indians handled their spinners. It effectively nullifies India's biggest strength. In pace department, they have the upper hand. On roads as well they have the upper hand as they are very much used to playing in India as a team.  I would go with a slow not overly turning wicket where their aggressive stroke making can be fatal. Indians are pretty good on a slowish wicket as they use the crease better off the backfoot.

When you get shot out for 100 what can bowlers do. That's mental scar right there.

Let us hope it is one off scenario. Indian batting side is far better than that. I would have understood if they had done that against Herath or even Shakib. Giving 12 wickets to a guy who had 18 wickets in 5 test prior to this is bizarre. Hope they don't try to over-attack him and gift him wickets again like they did against Moeen Ali.

Remember 2005 where afridi and rashid Khan ran over us on day 5. Bangalore pitch is usually Patta and then it becomes a minefield.

I just hope we don't pick ishant again. It's time for a change.

Yeah, because it's Australia who's Gobshyte here. Will be 2-1, 3-1. Not gonna lose another match to these noobs here.

I also have bad feeling about the second test. The team management is going by reputation & are not ready to drop out of form players.Young players like Nair has to sit out even.after scoring a triple century in his last inning.Jayant ' name will be the first on the chopping block

Kumble has made it clear Rahane will not be dropped under any circumstances.I don't think Virat will drop Ishant.

Worst fear came true
